Hello..

I've just started using XBMC, and i found the viaplay launcher, but i simply cannot make it work!!
The problem is as described above, and i can see a solution has been mde, but i really cannot figure out how to install the update.
When I do it as normally, by doubleclicking, my screen just white, and noting happens..
What am I doing wrong here??

Hi,
the ViaplayLauncher.exe is not an update, it's the software that launches the episode or movie you have selected in XBMC and enables automatic login and playback etc.
In order to install the update you have to do the following:
Download the file from the url above and save it to for instance your desktop.
Start the File Explorer and paste this path into it %appdata%XBMC\addons\plugin.video.viaplay\resources\lib
There should already be a Viaplaylauncher.exe in the Lib folder, replace the old one with the new.

I will release a new version later this week which will also contain the update.

When you come around with a new version - will you consider creating a repository for your great add-on - it would be great not to have to download and install on multiple XBMC-installations.

Thank's for the link, I've been meaning to create a repository for my addons, but I haven't gotten around to do it...

I thought I would give you an update on what I'm currently working on in the Viaplay addon.

I've managed to get playback to work directly from within XBMC.
However, in order to be able to get this to work, I had to make a few compromises.

The first thing is that there will be a addon setting which will control if you want to use this feature, the reason for this is that not all of the Viaplay content will be available.
This includes content from both TV and movies. When the setting is activated the addon will only show the content that are available.

The other thing is that in order to be able to get this to work a tool is needed, the downside is that when playback is started it will shift focus from Xbmc to this tool, but only for a second or two.
After that focus is restored and after a few more seconds playback will commence.
A third thing is that the quality will be in 420p and with about 1.5 mbits bitrate and aac audio.

Below is a screenshot showing the playback from within Xbmc.

There is still a lot of work to be done and I could use some help in testing this.
If anyone is interested in doing some testing then please let me know.
For now there is only support for Windows...

I will try and support Mac OS/X.
At this stage I'm not sure if it's even possible to support Linux...
