Very thorough description :-) I have made the same observations.

One last thing: when I choose to watch a sport broadcast which isn't due yet, I would normally be presented with a screen telling me the time until the broadcast is shown. As it is now it just starts a live stream of the channel where the broadcast is send.

This would mean - in principle - all programmes on a sportcasting viasat channel are available by choosing the sport event to be broadcasted later.
Unfortunately it doesn't work every time or on every channel.
I just tested Sunderland-Stoke to be shown on (Danish) 6'eren. While waiting for the broadcast this stream is showing channel TV3 sport HD.
And selecting NHL Toronto-Boston to be shown tonight on TV3 Sport1 shows me a black screen instead of live showing of the current football match on TV3Sport1.
However, selecting NY Rangers-Washington to be shown on Viasat Hockey HD does indeed present me with live showing of the current stream of Viasat Hockey HD.

Well it would have been nice if it was the way you describe, i didn't test all of the options, it was a minor observeation I made, but it's strange that you would end up with a black screen on some the entries. sounds like it depends on the stream to be open already showing another broadcast.

I believe that the behavior should be the same when using the Ipad and Safari (but I could be wrong).
I'm not able to test this since my subscription only has TV and movies.
But there is also a possibility that Viaplay handles this differently in the Viaplay app or on the website, but the streaming m3u8 url is still reachable...

I've released a new version for testing.

This version contains the following changes:

- Added support for subtitles when using playback from xbmc.

You can download the new version here.

In order to be able to watch Viaplay content from within Xbmc you need to have Google Chrome or the Chromium web browser installed.
Also I've only tested the subtitle support with Swedish Viaplay, I would appreciate if someone could try it out with Danish, Norwegian and Finnish as well...

As it is now, subtitles are always used if found, in the stable version you will be able to control this via a setting in the addon.

Well it's probably a bug...
The only ones that were intended for favorites are tv-shows, but since the handling of tv-shows, movies and sport events are generic it's also available but not working properly.

Sorry for the late response, I tested it last saturday. the subtitles appeared nicely and automatic and æøå-ÆØÅ was showed fine as they should. I watched a ful 45min episode without problems.
I then started watching a 60min episode I then paused it for about 5-10 min and then continued watching. 30min into the show, I notice that the subtitles are several seconds off, (belive they were delayed, not sure)

The reason why I ask is that niknak-dk has not been able to get danish subtitles to work.
Perhaps it's related to the episode, I believe that niknak-dk had problems with Two and a half men.
Could you try if that works for you?

Hey - total newbe here. Got a clean win7 (up-to-date) Chrome and Silverlight installed, able to watch Viaplay in the Chrome and IE browsers. Made a clean XBMC (Frodo 12.2) installation, added the Viaplay plugin from zip as described. Added my login credentials. Able to browse all the viaplay movies/sports/TV in XBMC, works like a breeze.

When i try to view a clip (live sports, movie, TV show) I get a small popup in the right lower corner of XBMC, saying "Error: Script Failed! plugin.video.viaplay" and no playback is started. From the XBMC log-file I extracted these lines listed below (searched for "Error")

I probably just overlooked a small detail during installation, can you help me out?

Hi,

happy to hear that you like the addon.
From what I can read from the excerpt there seems to be a problem with MceRemoteHandler which is the Autohotkey script that let's you use your Mce remote control or keyboard when
pausing, playing, going to fullscreen or change quality and subtitles.

What you could do is to check if the MceRemoteHandler script actually is available at the following location.
Goto the Start-menu and paste the following path %appdata%\XBMC\addons\plugin.video.viaplay\resources\lib
In this directory there should be seven files, one them should be "MceRemoteHandler.exe".

If this file is not present then you should try and remove the addon and then install it again.

Let me know if you get it to work or need more help.

I already tried removing and re-installing - but I'll give it another try

Update:
I tried disabeling my avast antivirus scanner while installing. Then the trz6364.tmp file dissapeared and the file MceRemoteHandler.exe appeared Now everything works! Thanks for the excelent support - and the neat plugin
