[RELEASE] Spotimc: Another Spotify music addon
(2013-05-07, 07:48)Kibje Wrote: You did not download it from github by any chance did you?

I did. I also tried downloading it from http://azkotoki.org

Where should I get it from?

Hi,

I recently upgraded to Frodo (I'm on 12.1) and beta2 stopped working so I downloaded beta4 from:
http://azkotoki.org/download-file/28/scr...-1-0-beta4

The add-on reports an error at startup and I get this in the log:
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=16797

libspotify seems to be there:
/home/media/.xbmc/addons/script.audio.spotimc/resources/dlls/linux/x86_64/libspotify.so

I already tried deleting and re-installing the add-on but it didn't help.

I saw the same error mentioned in a previous posting and the solution given was to download the file from the correct location. Am I still fetching it from the wrong place?

As previously stated the github location does not include the necessary libraries.

I think something went wrong with the install because you installed two different versions with the same number.
Can you close down xbmc, remove the addons/script.audio.spotimc folder and the cached zip file which is in the subfolder in the addons folder (forgot the name).

After that restart xbmc and install the azkotoki.org file

I gave it a try. No luck. Still getting the same error.

It's not peaks, the CPU is always at around 100 % (and sometimes even more since the XBMC thread stats are aggregated inside top, so I even have 120 or 130 %)
Do you still have this issue? The audio dropouts could happen when caches are relatively new, so libspotify has to make network requests more frequently. Also, I've noticed some corner cases that could trigger unusual cpu loads when the audio buffer is full. Will keep an eye on this, and will hopefully provide a fix on the next release.

Reading your log file, I can see the errors but I can also notice that the streams get successfully served to XBMC (HTTP 200 status codes). Are you on Ubuntu? (It should work there, I'm just trying to get more information about the environment).

I just installed Spotimc Beta 4 on Frodo 12.2

When I go to open it I get the following error:

OSERROR: Unable to find 'libspotify'

I have a premium Spotify account.

Other details about my setup - Windows 8, Spotify 0.9.0.133

Anyone know how to fix this?
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the addon again and try sending the pastebin produced by the installation process. If you downloaded the installation package from http://azkotoki.org/downloads/ as @Kibje suggested, you should have all the required dependencies.

A file named libspotify.dll should be present in %APPDATA%XBMC\addons\script.audio.spotimc\resources\dlls\windows\x86. If not, it's likely that something is blocking the creation of that file (perhaps antivirus software or some system security directive...).

Thanks!
I've done some basic tests on Android and as said on previous posts, I've managed to start the addon but sadly crashes XBMC after a while. Will resume my efforts on Android once 1.0-final gets released.

Try exiting and starting the XBMC process again. The issue is propably caused by the ZipImportError appearing on line 12 of your log file. It's a known issue, and I'm aware that this need-to-restart issue when upgrading Spotimc is somewhat frustrating, but it will hopefully be fixed on future releases.

Thanks mazkolain.

It looks like the install process isn't even creating the script.audio.spotimc folder for some reason... I turned off all security and tried to re-install. Same deal. It tells me the addon has been enabled, but when I start it up I get the error message about being unable to find the libspotify file and the script.audio.spotimc folder isn't in the addons folder.

Same here, mostly. the folder is not being created in the addons folder. However, in my instance, the add-on is able to login to Spotify, it just doesn't display any of the content. The side panel is blank white, the New tab has nothing displayed, the playlists tab says "38 playlists" (accurate to my spotify account) but shows nothing, Searching allows me to type on a keyboard and displays "12 search results listed" but nothing is listed below.

Any ideas?

Edit: Works for me on Raspbmc. But not Windows, as mentioned above.

I have been trying to install on windows 7 frodo 12.1. After I have installed the plugin and launch for the first time I get the following error - LibSpotifyError - Invalid libary version.

Checked FAQ and this thread but can't find any info.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Are you using a custom Spotyxbmc2 build? Both Spotyxbmc2 and Spotimc are known to conflict each other, due to the fact that both use libspotify.

Thanks for the reply. This is the first time I have tried to instal a spotify based add in.

I had the same problem on my Win8 installation, and I've had a spotyxbmc2 build installed earlier. What I did was I uninstalled SpotiMC, deleted libspotify.dll in the xbmc folder, then reinstalled SpotiMC. Now it works Smile

I installed this on Openelec and it works great! I'm now seeking to control it remotely from my Ipad. I have a app called Constellation and it doest show the add-on.My only wish is to play the songs on my playlists, searching and browsing songs isn't needed. Does somebody knows an app or trick to control it remotly from an ipad?

I heard that Yatse on androad is what i want for the Ipad...

Hello,

Spotimc is a great add on and works fine. But i want to use it on a raspberry pi without a monitor.
It would be great, if i can access the playlist of spotify with yatse, without navigate through the menu.
Other add ons like "Radio" have this feature also.
I've read that spotimc creates a proxy to connect to spotify. I think it wouldn't be a problem, that the playlists only updated when i'm connected to spotify (i see old playlists in yatse until i'm connected over spotimc).

I already posted this in the github issue tracker (https://github.com/mazkolain/spotimc/issues/109) , but it seems no one is really looking over there.

I have the same issue as this guy: https://github.com/mazkolain/spotimc/issues/87

For me it is the first time i tried to install the spotimc plugin and i get this error when i try to install it from the zip file i downloaded:

09:58:31 T:140277138298624 ERROR: Cache - Failed write to file special://home/addons/script.audio.spotimc/resources/dlls/linux/armv6hf/libspotify.so

I'm running openelec XMBC 12.0-RC3

I tried creating the folder-tree manually, but it doesn't make any difference.

When listening to spotimc, and it goes to that Music screen saver mode I cant get back into spotimc, it just crashes xbmc.
Also if I stops spotimc and watch a movie, when i click at the spotimc icon again, xbmc crashes.

I am on win 7 x64 with xbmc 12.2- have tried 12.1

Definitely, still have, I cant use spotimc because of that. I don't think it's a network issue; I've fiber optic connection with 100 MBps bandwidth… Smile

The CPU load is near 100% all of the time, it's really weird. I wish I would have a way to track this down, but profiling at this stage isn't something I know how to do. I'd be to test anything OTOH. Smile

Hey, thanks for a great addon!
Just installed it on the latest OpenElec, and after the mandatory reboot, the htpc wouldn't start up XBMC. I logged in and found that the python scripts and XML files were all in windows format (vi showed ^M at the end of each line). After judiciously applying the dos2unix command, and another reboot, everything worked fine!
