Hi All,
After several years of using a WDTV Live Gen 1 and playing around with moviesheets, I installed XBMC on my laptop for a play and liked what I tried. I've read up on Raspberry Pi, Acer Revo, Xtreamer 2 etc. all as potential options.
However I keep coming up with various potential issues. I'm hoping you guys can spec me something that ticks the following prerequisites;
I'm located in UK
Prefer an off the shelf option
Must be capable of smooth playback of high bitrate 1080p bluray rips in mostly MKV format
Must stream from my 2x WD MyBook Live NAS over cat5 wired
Must have SPDIF optical out
Is only for movie playback via XBMC, no need for a Windows environment or otherwise
Preferably passive or near-silent
Must be compatible with my Harmony One IR remote
Budget can be anything from £100 to £400, though clearly the cheaper the better. It's only a media player powered by XBMC I want, nothing more
Look forward to your suggestions. Thanks in advance
