Wiki looks like it has some info - Playlists Page and Nodes Page

Both of which once set up can be added as a Main or Submenu option

I'm beginning to think what I want to do is not possible.

The nodes wiki looks like it involves editing xml files and I tried to accomplish this exercise on the standard confluence skin and that was a nightmare because everything involved editing xml files and I could never get that to work. I just don't get it and support for such a thing is general at best. Then I became aware of this skin mod that allowed customization within the program. Any customization that requires editing xml ifiles s a non-starter for me. I don't speak computer code without very specific directions

As far as either favorites or playlists, the best I can tell is you can either create a submenu that includes all the favorites or all the playlists - neither of which is what I would like. I want to specify a specific playlist/favorite/path for a menu item and not a list of all playlists or list of all favorites

I am kind of surprised that what I would like is all that unique. I simply want to specify a specific and unique path that's behind a specific and unique menu button.

Okay best option for you would be Playlists, you can do it all from XBMC. It does require some work as anything "unique" does not come out the box. Playlists do not only show folders, they show what you want them to show. Example = some of the "PreSet Video" items you can add to the menu.

To start off gently - Can you find "Playlists" under the videos menu option ? If so go for new smart playlist & start setting up some options for your requirements.

Once you've created and saved a playlist you can then add it to the Mod's menu system

Yes, I successfully set a playlist called Blu-Ray. For the rules of that playlist I specified "S:\Blu-Rays" (the path to the appropriate folder). I did not specify any other rule. I then go into the home menu screen and click on one of the entries (ie, menu item 4) hoping to find something on that list that looks something like "Playlist (Blu-Ray)" but that is not on the list. So I choose the generic "Playlist". Now when I click on the button on the home menu that says "Blu-Ray", it takes me to a list of all the playlists (of which there is one 1 ("Blu-Ray"), but eventually there will be more

RSS feed is slightly offset - Start playing some sort of media & then go to Home Screen while it's playing - you'll see the reason. BTW if you then press "M" the default key is "FullScreen"

Okay, I see. This is only for touch screens.

ATM the default is "Pause" that's what I use it for However I'll go with a popular request. Unfortunately it's not something that is adjustable once MOD is running.

Son there is nothing you can do!

Success!. Instead of choosing the generic "Playlist", I chose "Playlist (video)". This took me to a list of the created playlist and allowed me to choose the appropriate one. I think I'm all set on this project. I

BTW, is there any way to display the home screen menu in vertical rather than horizontal layout? I could not find the switch if possible.

I spoke too soon. Now I'm having problems even creating playlists. Please check my math on this. I've started from scratch with a reinstall of both xbmc and this skin (I'm not sure what I broke when I was screwing with the xml files so I just started over). Please check my math.

1) I go to Video/Files/Add videos and then specify 4 folders from the server (movies1, movies2, movies3, movies4) and name the video source "Movies". The scraper is the default one and all content is labelled as Movies. The scraper does its thing (about 600 movies ripped from dvds as video_ts)

2) When scraper is complete, I go to video/movies. A list of all the movies is there and I can play any movie. Everything appears fine and normal.

3) I go into video/files/up one level/playlists/new smart playlist.

4) (now I'm going to create the playlist) The type is "movies". The rule I specify is: (Path) and then I browse to S:\Movies1\ so that when completed the rule says "Path is S:\Movies1\". I specified "S:\Movies1" the same way I specified it when adding content (in other words, I chose the same path). I leave everything else alone. and name this playlist movie1.

5) I then go back to main menu, video/files/up one level/playlists/ and I choose Movies1. The playlist is empty. Where have I gone wrong? Is a playlist even possible when the content is video_ts files?

edit: ignore this request because ive refreshed the rope using the context menu and am now instaling 1.2.2 and it seems to be working fine now.

I installed 1.2.1 as soon as you put it up. it did some strange things and then crashed and when i rebooted xbmc showed that i did not have this skin addon installed at all.

now i have tried to delete all folders that reference the skin and tried to reinstall but it won't install.

any thoughts?

Just checking in. Was wondering if there is a fix. Woke up this morning and the skin had changed. No submenus. Looked like artist downloader had crashed XBMC.

Closed XBMC via task manager. Rebooted and the skin came up without my submenus?? Checked skin settings and there was no option to set the sub menus! Checked Appearance and skin was still confluence customizable mod. I switched to another skin. Closed XBMC. Launched XBMC. Set skin back to confluence customizable mod. Still no sub menus.

I have daily batch job that backs up userdata. Reloaded yesterday's userdata. Still did not fix it.

Does confluence customizable mod automatically update? I see the comment above about corrupted upload. Could that have caused my problem?

Any suggestions on fixing it so I can reset the submenus?
