Will advanced launcher work with android under the OUYA platform? Has anyone tested that? There is a built in android app launcher in the confluence skin for XBMC with OUYA. But it has problems if you want to customize it.
Know android is some weird version of Linux at one time. But not sure if it can work. So asking.

Angelscry - yes can understand what you state. Likely would need some process monitor tool to find the command line equivalent for any app that starts under android. Not sure I have the motivation to give that a go. But good to note it can be done with superuser access and application monitor.

I'm having trouble with the scrapers when making a launcher: thumbnails and fanart do not display by default. From what I can tell, game information is downloaded correctly and images are properly located, but they're just not being displayed unless I go in and manually edit each file. That tells me at least that I'm using the correct console and the first scraper is working. I'm using Aeon MQ 5 skin if that makes any difference. I've tried and observed the following:
First, I have thumbnails and screenshots already saved locally the way I want them and for each of the following scraper settings create a new launcher and attempt to add-items.
1. info - GamesDB, automatic; thumbs - GamesDB, automatic, do not overwrite; fanart - GamesDB, automatic, do not overwrite
2. info - GamesDB, automatic; thumbs - Google, automatic, do not overwrite; fanart - Google, automatic, do not overwrite
3. info - GamesDB, automatic; thumbs - local images, GamesDB; fanart - local images, GamesDB
In each case, the games are detected, but images are not displayed. If I edit the game and try to re-import scraper data for it, the default images appear to have the correct image and directory but aren't displaying the image.
Second, I copied the image directories and created new, blank directories and tried the following:
1. info - GamesDB, automatic; thumbs - GamesDB, automatic, do not overwrite; fanart - GamesDB, automatic, do not overwrite
1. info - GamesDB, automatic; thumbs - GamesDB, automatic, overwrite; fanart - GamesDB, automatic, overwrite
In each case it appears the scrapers are doing their job in downloading images, but they are still not being displayed. I still have to go into each game and manually link the local image for display to work.
That's what I've troubleshooted so far. Could this be a skin issue or something else?
Update: when editing thumbnails manually, all games following the updated thumbnail will display the same image.
Update update: Yup. Closing XBMC and re-opening must have gotten the skin to correctly cache the images. It looks like Aeon MQ's fault.

If you can't figure out a way, I would not worry too much. I just needed to know what's happening.
One question though. I saw you answer someone in another forum about mapping alt-f4 to a remote so one could exit the emulator (let's say snes9x) and return to XBMC without a keyboard. The advice was for XBMCbuntu though. Do you have any suggestions for methods in Windows? (i.e.- Is there preferred software that plays well with external programs and advanced launcher)?

I'm getting an error that says "Script failed!: addon.py"
Upon checking the log it appears to be looking for a launchers.xml file.
There is no launchers.xml file in the whole recursive search of the xbmc folder that I've got xbmc installed in. I run it with the -p switch on Windows 7 Pro 64 if it makes a difference. Is there a way to get a copy of a generic launchers.xml file?
