Do you have a solution for the "impossible to assign thumbnails" thing? Or will this fix that?
"impossible to assign thumbnails" message could mean that the scraper is not able to found a thumbnail corresponding to the gamename/plaform combo. So giving the good platform could solve the problem. It could also mean that the addon is not able to save the thumbnail image into the designed thumbnail directory (no write rights).

hmmm that sounds like a viable solution. Does the scrapper save the images to the same location as the scrappers used by Aeon nox to find thumbnails for movies because my I have no problem with the movie scrapper. I'll go test this out and reply back if it still doesn't work. Thanks for your replies.
Alright I got the thumbnails and fan art to show up by changing the directory it writes to in the settings but I can't get the information to show. When I click on "edit launcher" it shows the publisher and summary but Aeon Nox is not displaying it when I hover my mouse over it. Any solutions?

That's a skin problem. The Aeon Nox view you are using may not able to display the information... beacause it was not created for.

Oh sorry I forgot to mention that I tested it on Cirrus Extended as well and it didn't display the information either. Is this a normal occurrence that I just need to troubleshoot? I might be doing a step wrong and missing a plugin? I'd be grateful for more help if you have time .

If when you edit the launcher from XBMC and the description text, release date, publisher, genre and platform information are here, they could be displayed by the skin if this one support it. Information is not sent to the skin but to xbmc which send it then to the skin. So is something is not displayed correctly, the problem comes from the skin. If will also the view type you are using.
Hello,

Is there any frontend software, that would scan my Steam Account/Library folders, and a folder I point to (my non steam games) to create game launcher shortcuts, gather artwork, info etc "automatically" and at the same look as beautiful as XBMC? I can't really add 500 games manually. It's time consuming and tiring. I'm ready to pay for it.
Hi,
I have a folder for the Nintendo SNES ROM. Since they are in ZIP Format contain multiple versions of each ROM. example:

"Super Mario World.zip" contains
- Super Mario World (E) (V1.1) sfc [!].
- Super Mario World (U) sfc [!].

How do you can select the version when selecting "Super Mario World.zip"?

Thank you for your help

In state, you can't. Advanced Launcher is dedicated to start applications, not to manage specific files like ROM. Also, emulators are application dedicated to start ROM (in your case .sfc files) and not zipped archives containing several ROM. So... please... extract your zipped files.

Maybe RoM-Jacket will be able to do this : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=134089

RoM-Jacket has 2 methods for adding roms to your steam library: ICE and RJ
Both methods backup and then create a shortcuts.vdf file.
I am uncertain if ICE appends roms to your library when it creates the configuration.
The RJ method creates a configuration from scratch.

Okay this makes sense but I'm using Cirrus Extended v3 which you said works best with Advanced Launcher. Is there some setting or prerequisite I need to do in the settings of the skin to make the info, genre, developer, and plot summary appear as they should? Is anyone else getting this problem?

I have just downloaded and installed the last GIT version of Cirrus Extended v3 on XBMC Gotham on my linux system, and as you can see all is displayed correctly :

Are you sure you are using the right version of Cirrus Extended v3 with the right version of XBMC?
Hello,

Since 2.2.4 I can no longer see the descriptions in my launchers, nor the "finished" status check boxes. I normally use the Transparency skin in the "full list" view. However I have tried all of the other views, as well as the skins Confluence and Aeon MQ5 and they don't appear there either. If I roll back to 2.2.2 everything returns.

Edit: I'm on Frodo 2.3. Also I am unable to continue on 2.2.2 due to the "toggle minimized" bug. Also that version kept changing around my "finished" check marks.

It will be normally fixed by version 2.2.5.

Version 2.2.5 : This new version of Advanced Launcher fix a bug with the launchers information display. Thank to Jer Stryker for the feedback.

Changelog :
  • Fix launcher information display.
Works well now. Thank you!
I have all my roms in their own folders and have advanced launcher set to save thums and fanart to the rom folder when added to advanced launcher. Is it also possible to save the rom nfo file to the rom folder? Would make reimporting easier.
