Intel NUC - Bay Trail (Celeron Generation CPU) - DN2820FYKH

I'm running Win8.1pro and Gotham Beta1 - the eHome transceiver is there and working, but XBMC will not let me install the MCEremote add-on - neither through repo or zip. Remote is working, but only very basic directional navigation, play/pause/skip/stop and such.

I always use XBMCCustomRegis. Never failed me.

These drivers seem to have disappeared from Intel's site? Did anyone get a chance to install them, and did they work? There were USB 3.0 Windows 7 drivers a few weeks earlier that didn't work for me.

They might be in the driver bundle?

Thanks for testingSmile

Regarding the DD+ netflix issue someone found a solution. Long solution but works:

Turns out this is also the culprit for Netflix Metro app, 5.1 DD+ playback issues. The app requires Protected Audio Path for the DD+ stream. No IME driver, no Protected Audio Path.

I mean, they officially announced DTS-HD capacities with this. About time they churn out the neccessary drivers for their own platform to do so.

A long shot but I've just noticed this driver, https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_...ldID=23415

Do you have this installed?

I wonder if it could be a replacement for the IME driver, as I can't see it listed for the Haswell NUC @ https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchR...+D54250WYK

The mate I was helping out has now returned the DN2820FYKH so can't try it out here.

This user is is running a D54250WYK NUC. This is a Haswell NUC, these have the Intel Management Engine drivers. The DN2820FYKH and most (if not all) Intel Bay Trail boards - have not gotten this driver. What it does, is explained in the previous post.

Intel Trusted Execution is a feature integrated in BIOS, CPU and Chipset - protection against unauthorized OS boots, Rootkits and the like. A vague explanation could be "secure sandboxing" - isolating processes, memory space or storage from the rest of the system. In theory, this could possibly be expanded to include HDCP/PAP fuctions, but it doesn't seem like Intel has gone that route. Personally I have this driver up to date, and doesn't seem to impact the issue. Beyond that, see above.

Edit: As to thoroughly test this, I deactivated the Intel Trusted Execution Engine device, and could still get Netflix 5.1 DD+ audio analog output from an external USB soundcard (still no bitstream over HDMI).

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=189553 <- new xbmcbuntu v13 should work quite well on the new nucs.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

it seems that no Canadian stores have the DN2820FYKH in stock. I have looked for over a month and every canadian stores website says that the item is not available/back order. So what happen to this unit? already discontinued?

Anyone else notice the fan misbehaving after resume from sleep in Windows 8.1?
Or if you set a custom fan speed in the BIOS and save and reboot, that the fan speed and temps are no longer reported in BIOS and the fan spins louder and faster than it should?

I have had this issue on 2 of these. The first one Intel Support suggested I downgrade BIOS from 0025 to see what happens, with no improvement. I updated to 0025 again and it died altogether.

The replacement does the exact same thing. its still on BIOS 0015, I'm a bit scared to up date it lol.
