[ARCHIVED - WON'T UPDATE] XSqueeze - Squeezebox player for XBMC
Hi,

I've finally changed my ATV1 os to Openelec and added Xsqueese (thank you for it and for all the info in this thread!). I'm using the latest version of Xsqueeze (the one from yesterday) and everything works on the ATV1.
I'm using squeezelite with Xsqueeze and was wondering if there is a way to add libsoxr to Xqueeze so that I can resample all streams to a higher sample rate.
I've tried adding the command line options to the squeezelite arguments:

Code:
-R -u vLX

But the stream that's output from the ATV1 is still at 44.1KHz or 48KHz, so it doesn't seem that the SoX library is available.

I don't know much about that to be honest. Generally speaking, the binaries will look in their local paths for libs, so I would think if you found one for your ATV1 and popped it in to the appropriate folder, re-started things, it would then work?

Otherwise I'd probably say that's more of a system level thing and you might want to ask the OE guys how best to get that in there...

Pushed v 1.1.1 which has all the auto discovery stuff as mentioned above, and has better help text in the settings.

Great work..

I ended up using the SoX with LMS to do the up-sampling on-the-fly, and streaming the up-sampled file the the Xsqueeze.

Thank you for your addon! It made everything work!

Ah good idea, that makes sense...transcoding/upsampling is better on the server side anyway really.

Hello.

I have a LTS Ubuntu (12.04.4), which uses its standard XBMC Eden 11.0 dated April 2013.

When I try to install the newest XSqueeze, it shows up as broken due to dependencies.

Could you please tell, if it is possible to run any version of Xsqueeze on the above setup? It seems I can't really upgrade, as my ATI proprietary drivers are not supported in newer versions. :-(

Odd. The dependencies haven't changed in ages...did previous versions work?

I have no idea, haven't used Eden in a long while now, but it worked way back when ok I think...

This is the first time I am trying xsqueeze, so I have no idea. Is it possible to get older versions?

What ATI card do you have?

Actually, when I click on the addon, it says "Addon has been marked as broken in repository". And the bossanova repository shows 0 addons when trying to get a list of them, even after refresh.

I have heard of that happening temporarily and fixing itself, I am not sure I trust the whole xbmc statting repos thing completely!

What about other (non xbmc.org) repos > same issue?

Looks to me like you will have a solution - see http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=174854 - your card is listed as supported http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Vid...abled_GPUs

You do not need to go through all the steps in that thread, the vdpau solution is available via openelec 4 beta and through Xbmcbuntu 13 beta. openelec is particularly easy to do a temporary setup on a USB stick to try it out.

Hmm. I tried one, and it shows up as broken too.

Regarding bossanova repo: I am new to xbmc, so I have no idea, but could it possibly be because in bn repo there are only entries for frodo and gotham skins, but none for eden?

Thanks, I'll give it a try if other things don't work. Otherwise, I would rather not reinstall system -- it only has 1 hdd from a degraded mirror and I've had issues in past with grub not installing in the right place.

You can also make a couple of small partitions using parted and dual boot openelec. Thats what I have been doing for a while, and I like openelec so much that I hardly ever go back to my buntu install.
