If your TV cannot do 60 hz - then it's very good for it, that it does not appear in that gui.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Your TV cannot(!) do 60hz at 1920x1080. It is a typical HD Ready device, that only does progressive, when you run 720p - xbmc-xrandr clearly shows that.

this very much looks like a HD Ready 720p TV. Those will expose 1080p modes, but ONLY interlaced. Set xbmc to 720p and it should work.

Sorry to bring up an old thead (couple months) but I too get this error on 3 different systems. The three systems are 1 with monitor while the other 2 are TV's. None of what was mentioned here worked and it only happens at the very end of the movie file. As my DVDs are origional, in ISO format, this happens towards the very end of the credits (about 5 secs before it).
I've tried Gotham's final version and the Alpha Helex with nothing else installed but the package on the confluence skin, same results.
I can't say I really noticed this in Frodo however I very rarely see my movies out to the end of the credits, so I can only mirror what KidKiwi has indicated above.
Any one experience this, maybe it's an ISO playback issue as KidKiwi said his are ISO also.., not sure.

I too have this issue, I'm not any kind of power user so running scripts and the like is a bit over my head. I am using Gotham on Windows 7 64 bit and playing VOB format files. After each movie, XBMC produces the "Playback Failed Check the Log File for Details" message. Yes, I am using Samba shares. No, they are not unreliable (wired GbE, to NAS with load balancing). I also had no problem with Frodo.
Could this have something to do with playlists? I recently started messing around with those.
Can't post a debug log ATM but will try to get one up.
FWIW, no functionality seems to be affected at all.

I don't think it has anything to do with Playlists as I get this from a clean Gotham install using the default Movies or TV Shows menu, it doesn't matter what skin it gives the same error (even Confluence).
