[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution

(I also using 4.6)

Thank you for all your hard work!

*Edit I saw in the changelog its a known issue to not be the right language, but still would be cool to use the artwork I already have Smile

PseudoTV Live already uses your library images... this was included with v.0.4.6... whatever XBMC uses PTVL uses for your local media... if you see it downloading images its either...for livetv, a plugin or you were missing that image or it wasn't found.

Thank you. Its most likely on my end, Ill do a full reinstall tomorrow. I did play around with it, and it only downloads art if dynamicartwork is enabled. If its turned off, It grabs my artwork I already have just fine. 4.5 used my artwork with dynamicartwork on so Im not sure whats going on with that, but Ill do a full reinstall tomorrow and hopefully it will sort itself out

Im noticing that after upgrading to 4.6 PTVL is using Fanart images for the EPG even though Aurora is set to use Landscape images. Is this a bug or should I just manually edit the XML file for the new artwork spooler?
How can I disable all of the extra features to get the EPG to fly; what features slow it down the most? I'm not sure how I had it setup before, but it was extremely fast (on a 2 month old version). Now, its so slow I don't even feel like using PseudoTV Live anymore.

EDIT NVM, disabled dynamic artwork and its blazing fast again.
@Lunatixz - i've done a full install with everything afer 0.4.3 and nothing works for livetv via strm. I get the following message.

"unable to populate channels. please verify that you have scraped media in your library and that you have properly configured channels."

this is how I have my livetv chans setup - i've only included one chan since everything else is the same except for a few basics. What has changed that is not allowing me to use this configuration that has worked so well in the past? anyhelp is greatly appreciated as I would like to update to get the latest and greatest features and improvements that you have been working so hard on.

forgot to mention I did manual install of 0.4.6 as instructed via twitter.

<settings>
<setting id="Channel_702_type" value="8" />
<setting id="Channel_702_1" value="I702.16689.tmsdatadirect.com" />
<setting id="Channel_702_2" value="C:\strm\tuner1\702 - WCBSDT.strm" />
<setting id="Channel_702_3" value="xmltv" />

<setting id="Channel_702_rule_1_id" value="1" />
<setting id="Channel_702_rule_1_opt_1" value="CBS NY" />

Great. Channel autostarting and repeating trailers fixed. Smile
Still have a guestion about constructing my Drama Channel.
And also I have two channels that are constructed from XBMC smartplaylist, but they doesn't play trailers between shows. Altough I have enabled advanced rule "Enable BTCs"

if it's a movie playlist, then you need to enable "trailers in movie channels"

Oh sorry, forgot to mention that it is enabled.
Excellent work Lunatixz!! The inbuilt BCT's are working correctly now and the channels are building fast again.
The only problematic thing for me is the artwork. PTVL no longer seems to use my local artwork anymore but instead downloads it. I have a lot of movies and shows so it will impact the EPG whilst browsing. When looking for artwork there is a 5-10 second pause. I noticed a user mentioning disabling dynamic artwork. I tried this and the EPG is very fast after, but there is no artwork at all.

So from what I have read in recent posts if I am understanding properly, with dynamic artwork enabled PTVL is supposed to use local artwork and if it is not found download from the internet? (Mine seems to be downloading all artwork from the internet)
With dynamic artwork disabled there is no artwork displayed?

[*] Background Artwork Cache Spooling and Downloader (Experimental). If Enabled, PseudoTV Live will spool the artwork cache for faster EPG response.
Please note that missing artwork will be downloaded to the artwork cache folder. You can disable download via "Find missing guide data"

My ....\cache\artwork folder should be empty, but there is already artwork in there that I already have. I am just puzzled to why it seems to be downloading all the artwork, when all artwork should already be available from my library.

If I may make a suggestion. How about when you set the Background Artwork Cache Spooling and Downloader to on all artwork is disabled (dynamic art disabled) until it has completed. This would mean that the guide will be fast at all times, even if the updater is not complete.

PTVL has been running for a few hours now and I have yet to be notified that it has completed the background artwork. Maybe the current method used will take a LOT longer for me since I have a freakishly big library.

Please correct me if I have got anything wrong and as always keep up the excellent work Luna and everyone else who has contributed. PTVL keeps getting better and better! Blush

Edit:

I have just noticed background spooling occurs outside PTVL, It runs but an error comes up a few seconds later. Will post a log if this keeps occuring.
Just upgraded from 4.3 to 4.6 and I have 2 issues
1.The first one is about artwork,as Rastan said previously,PLTV always downloads artwork and ignores my local,inside folders,art..
2.The second one is a unicode issue.In live tv channels through pvr backend PLTV doesn't display the plot(greek language) I can only see the title show also in greek language.All other type channels work fine.

Thanks,Lunatixz
Does anybody have the zip to manually install for anything before 4.5? 4.3 maybe @tromy

I have the same problem with my artwork. I just spent the last few days after work replacing artwork I didnt like with artwork I do like manually (poster, clearart, logos) and making sure I have a poster, clearart, and logo for all movies. Took me a nice long, long time going through 350 folders, haha. So when I started seeing artwork that I didnt personally choose, I knew something was up. Im using an altered version of Titian that uses clearart on the overlay and poster and logo on the EPG. Its downloading everything, and using nothing I already have. I reverted back to about a 2 month old PTVL (not home and cant check the version) and its back to loading my artwork correctly. I was going to do a fresh install of xbmc to see if it helped, but with others having some issues too, I might hold off (and I forgot I have to go to my newphews bday party today so I probably would have time anyway)

It's experimental... the first artwork query is to xbmc for it's artwork, before downloading... some bugs need to be worked out...

Was there a fix for the "dependencies not met" error when installing PTVL? I was reading through a bit yesterday but didn't see anything.

I tried installing it on Gotham 13.1 and I get that error, but had no problem installing it on my Gotham 13 machine.

I even tried unzip the file and placing the folder where it needed to be but that didn't work
I also installed all of the dependencies in post #1 as well and that did not work.
