[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
(2014-11-30, 00:09)tommymsw Wrote: Hey guys, just been messing with this for the first time today. I set up PTVL with USTVNOW, it works great but I don't get any program data. It says "TV listing unavailable, check you xmltv file". Now, I do NOT have a xmltv file but only because I ONLY intend on using this as a program guide for USTVNOW and I do not have anything other than that included in PTVL. I know in the first post it says I do NOT need an xmltv file for UTVNOW. Is this still true? Do I need to select anything in the settings to get the listing information? Note: when running the USTVNOW addon (yes, its the Lunatixz one) I DO get a listing for the shows there. They only do not show up in PTVL. Thanks in advance.

Do none of the channels show info or is it just a few?

I had to load my settings2 file on my computer and manually change some off the files to live tv. They were set on internet tv for some reason.

You do have an xmltv file it's provided for you.

Try and tick the setting "reset channels on next startup" then restart PTVL.

Quite new to the whole posting forum thing as this is my first post ever. However, I have taken about a week of my time to make what I believe to be a fantastic pseudotv live skin that i believe others will greatly enjoy using. Its a PTVL Skin modification, so all credit for this being in existence is completely owed to the PTVL Skin creater, the entire PseudoTv Community, and XBMC "Kodi". Without them I wouldnt have committed countless hours of figuring out exactly how I want this to be. Though before I continue to Post further, I would greatly appreciate someone to push me in the right direction as to where I should be posting about this as I would like to upload some photos and hopefully gain feed back and interest. This is just the start of what I intend to do for pseudoTV. I have greater plans for it that I believe will greatly appeal to the community. Im no coder or designer, I just have a basic understanding of things which means it takes extensive amounts of time. I will work hard to make this amazing if people are interested. I look forward to any and all responses.

Do I need to select anything in the settings to get the listing information? - You need to not select anything Wink , XMLTV Service by default is enabled under PVR settings... did you disable it?

If it's enabled and you still have missing data please send me a log.

Yup... That was EXACTLY the problem. (Good call!). I am running it on a Pi so I just disabled everything in PVR to streamline it. Enabling it and doing a channel reload didn't solve the issue, so I loaded the defaults and started over and it all worked great. Smile

Thanks my man. Well this is PTVL reimagined. Again all credit goes to everyone else whom have made this program possible. First off this is not complete, though fully functioning which is why I am only going to display images of the finished overlays. In progress right now is the EPG onclick overlay which will be new for PTVL "I believe atleast since i have not seen it else where in other skins. Instead of scrolling through the EPG, finding what you want, clicking it and being taken directly to the video, it will now instead bring up a new overlay with extended information such as cast, rating etc. Within that page will be various buttons such as genre, other movies like this. Basically if anybody has DTV "I only say DTV rather then the direct name "direct being the indicator of what im describing" bc i dont know all the forum policies. If mentioning a cable companies name is considered promotion and or some thing just generally not allowed, I dont want to display it in writing my first hours posting. Anyways, if any others have an interest in this give me some input on what you would like and I will incorporate it. Im not quick at this and I only do it a couple hours every other day, so I can not be precise as to when a version will be ready. Best guess the two month mark. I may have questions at some point while adding new features. May run into a few complications I need expert help with Smile anyways. Input on what you do and dont like will help greatly. Thanks all.

Hey Lunatixz, thanks for all the hard work. Do you think a low-powered device like the Raspberry Pi could possibly run this program?

Yes. He tests it on an rpi. There is an option in the configuration to disable all advanced settings when running on an rpi

Hey guys. After I run autotune, I get the message "no channels configured, would you like pseudotv to autotune channels?"

I say yes and it's autotunes again and then I get the same error.

While its running it says it' is adding channels so I'm confused.
I have all the checkboxes ticked in settings for playlists, youtube, etc so I'm not sure whats wrong.

Any ideas?

Check the button that says "Reserve channels 500-999 for autotune" under the "tweaks" tab and let it try to autotune again. I'm not sure if its a bug, but it seems like new installs autotune and build the channels (settings2.xml) as channels with a channel number greater than 1000... causing PTVL to think no channels are set up over and over.

See if that works for you.

Also open up the settings2.xml and see if the channels are defined in the 1500 range. I noticed that when playing around. I did a search and replace for _15 to _1 and it renumbered them to the 500 range and they showed up.

Hey Marshall, thanks for the response but I just tried both ways and neither worked.
Luna's not gonna help without a log.

If you post a section of your settings2 someone may take a look at it. Still logs your best bet.
Did you make sure you had set your OS type in Settings? I didnt do this and had the same problem you did.

Fixed it for me! Thanks so much. Big Grin
