I upgraded from XBMC to Kodi yesterday, and now both icons are still on my Apple TV 2 home screen. Clicking on Kodi works fine. Clicking on the XBMC icon crashes the ATV. Was the old installation not removed? Was there something I was supposed to do to get rid of the old installation?
Thanks for any help!

In hindsight we should have automated the removal of the old XBMC install. You can use "apt-get remove org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2" to manually remove it.

I upgraded to Kodi and I'm having the same problem. Did use the apt-get remove org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2 to manually remove it. Seems like it went through the process but is still show om my apple TV 2. Any advice please?

Have you rebooted? I also had double icons today, did the apt-get remove after upgraded to Kodi and rebooted, icon gone.
Went back to Kodi after failing to downgrade iPad. Kodi works much better now...

This is what I get when I run apt-get remove org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
The following packages will be REMOVED:
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 24 not upgraded.
After this operation, 0B of additional disk space will be used.
When I run the code you post ls -al /Applications:
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 22 Jan 9 2014 /Applications -> var/stash/Applications
Dont know if it makes a difference, but I did the upgrade from the maintenance area.

I did rebooted after I run the command... did from the remote and did unplug the apple tv too.....
Im kind of lost on what Im doing wrong.
Thanks for the help.

I tried again using Putty instead of CyberDuck and was able to complete the icon removal. Sorry for the mistake and thanks both you and Hovnarr for the help.
