unfortunately I have already tried this but it doesn't work. Maybe the problem is that IR receiver have an alternate address on the Boardwell NUC then the haswell NUC.

Nice. Can you please download some HEVC Clips and check CPU/GPU load when playing?

Sure thing, I'll have a look when I have everything up and running.
It works well so far with Kodi, Netflix-addon, Steam-addon with BPM and a PS3 controller!

As far as i understand, it wont be able to load those files on Kodi, since Kodi dont support HEVC hardware decoding yet. Not sure if it CPU alone is able to do it...

A power cord like this was included: http://click.intel.com/19v-power-adapter...uting.html
With adapters for different countries.

Thanks for the update.

I saw this image on the Legit Reviews site just last night which cleared it up.

Enjoy the new NUC. Smile

It doesn't need to support hardware decoding in order to play these files. Kodi can play HEVC content. I guess the question is how well does it play these files, and does it play all of them?

Don't worry about it, but we're not looking for guesses, we're looking for test results from people who have these boxes (assuming I understood gandharva's question). If anyone has either the i3 or the i5 and would like to test, I'd sure like to hear about the results.

As a side note, most 1080P HEVC content plays fine on my Haswell Celeron. It starts having issues with higher bitrates and/or 4K. I'd be interested to see how the Broadwell i3 fares.

Do you use openelec or Windows? 64 bits?

I'm running the generic 64bit build of OpenELEC.

If you were using Windows i would say to try mpc-be x64 latest beta. It's incredible how little cpu it uses...

Is there a way to report this to intel or raise it in their community forums? Issues with CIR and haswell were previously reported and fixed even though it took a while:

Hopefully something similar can be done with the Broadwell NUC?

That's probably because of updated ffmpeg in this nightly builds. Currently there is a lot of stuff going on in ffmpeg regarding HEVC.

I am waiting for a nuc5i3ryk to arrive. Meanwhile i have an extra msata which i dont use. It doesn't work on the NUC, right? Must be a M.2 Sata? Just to know if i must buy a m.2 sata.
