Well thank you for trying, believe it or not I'm not a complete moron. I am really good at reading documentation and troubleshooting but I do not even know where I am making a mistake and it seems the guides or suggestions I have found are dated.

I guess I will try LiveTV /InternetTV again

update:

Chtype Live TV
Source: Plugin
Browse: LiveTV > ESPN > ESPN LIVE > ESPN 1- NFL Show (currently Playing)

Save and open PTVL, go to the channel and it crashes PTVL

Go back into channel config and the Source and Browse Path are blank again

BTW I wouldn't use "LiveTV" it chtype requires xmltv listing data (unless you happen to have a matching listing for that channel). Otherwise use InternetTV.

I seem to be missing under the Visuals config section the option to choose a skin. The top choice on the Visuals config screen that I have is "Use (S0E01), Instead of (01x01) and if I scroll down I see no way to choose which skin I want to use for EPG. What am I missing?

FYI - am using version 0.6.2c.

Thanks......I think. Sorry, but you kind of lost me here. Other guides that I have seen mention going to the Visuals tab and then choosing the skin (ie. Concast) for how you want your EPG to look. I just don't have that option.

I cannot get it to work, I know this is vague but I dont even know where to start since it is not letting me select my PlayON UPnP source.

PseudoLive Channel Config > Pick the channel > Set type to UPnP or InternetTV ? > Browse to PlayOn UPnP > Selece ESPN > Select ESPN Live

then the channel config doesnt add it, very frustrating.

These links change all the time and there has to be a better way to set it up

Playon Chtype 16 dropped, in favour of new plugin available from my repo "playonbrowser". Once installed, Chtype 15 "Plugin" will have a custom option for "Playon"

I am a schedulesdirect customer and have an XMLTV grabber running on my linux box, however I didnt think that was how I should setup this ESPN channel or any channel. When I do try to select the specific channel in the channel configuration PTVL crashes, if I leave it at the parent directory it works but shows all the channels in the guide under that channel ESPN1, ESPN2, NEWS, Deportes etc.

Last October I attempted to setup XMLTV with PlayON for PTVL and was told it would not work that way, but seems there are different options now. I just do not know what they are or how to implement them.

I went ahead and donated for your time but I might just rack the idea, I really like the idea of having a guide for the wife and kids to click through but I have spent a lot of time trying to get it set up with minimal success.

What didn't work? can you send me a log, with some details? Only way this project can improve is with users help and feedback...

0.6.2c is crashing Kodi every time after startup, usually about 15-20 minutes after startup. Kodi runs fine otherwise, no changes have been made to the system or Kodi, and the previous versions of PTVL haven't exhibited this problem on my system (MacMini, 4GB RAM, Mavericks).

I'll post logs as soon as I can.

Luna! The problem Shaun is having might be due to the fact that the name changes in PlayOn. Some LiveTv channels have static names where others scrape the show playing. So adding to PTVL won't work since it is always changing. This is a PlayOn issue. One we need to either have them address or the user will have to create their own channels that remain static. I myself have been considering doing this as for now it's the only solution.

Yes I know! One single stream will not work since the name changes (the name of the live tv/internet tv source) and the link created from the plugin will eventually not work since the name changes.
