Release CinemaVision: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home
#76
(2015-07-27, 07:26)Dave the Minion Wrote: So the current state for the new audio formats is either a) CV will auto-detect the DolbyTrueHD or dtsHD-Ma track and play the bumper(s) in that folder or b) always play a Dolby Atmos or dts-X bumper(s) from those folders? I understand Kodi can't yet tell if a TrueHD track had Atmos metadata but will CV be able to recognize filename tags similar to source or 3D?

Tags isn't something we've put much thought into. We're trying to get everything working without much configuration on the part of the users. Honestly, I'd planned to add support for Atmos, DTS:X and Auro 3-D as soon as they start putting the format on Blu-ray media for us to use as a base. I'll run the idea by our developer, and we'll see what he says.

Sadly, I can't offer a release date. I can say that it will be released as soon as it's ready. Trust that we're working as fast as we can to get this to the community. Smile

Regarding tags, I think if it's possible to implement them in the following manner it could do a number of things for users who like to customize, until "better" options become easier to implement.

Module based on file name tag
1 - set parameter of file name tag to be used (eg. Bluray, DVD, Atmos etc.)
2 - options for file(s) from user defined folder to play
3- option to override other module (eg. default audio bumper, feature presentation intro etc.) if this module is activated
4 - Sit back and enjoy

So as an end user I could set-up this module to read for "Children" in the filename of movies I've added "Children" to in the file names for my own personal method of designation. I can then set to run 2 random videos from a "Cartoons" folder to play before the movie starts and I can have these cartoons override and play in place of the audio bumper.

Or I can put "AcademyAward" in the filename of Best Picture winners and use this module to look for that and insert a bumper video of all the presenters reading "And the Oscar goes to...." in place of the movie countdown.

And so on.

Of course this is all an example but I hope it makes sense. You create 1 module that can then be customized in many different ways. When things like future audio support or source reading become down by Kodi itself you can add those functions in the future.

Hi and thank you so much for making this happen !!!

When i play IMAX movies, docos or 3D, would it be possible for CV to detect that the file name contains IMAX and play the audio trailer from my IMAX folder?

cheers!!!

Haha you basically just asked what I fleshed out 2 posts prior and then produced my own video to use in one example I gave. It's a good idea that can be implemented in a large variety of ways.

I've been trying to put the hurt on our content management developer folks, because I found a huge bug. I opened a ticket 3 days ago, and they haven't given me an update yet. All the content is there, but member accounts is where this particular bug lies, which is bad. Will keep everyone posted, and hope to know more tomorrow.

I'm getting more and more frustrated with the folks at Invision. Angry

Invision is working to fix the problem, but it likely won't be fixed until early this week. I'm really sorry about the delay. Know that I'm just as frustrated as all of you. The site stays offline till we get this resolved, but rest assured we've got plenty of other things to work on in the meantime. Sorry, everybody!

Kidding, of course. Hope they can get their ducks in a row sooner rather than later. I'm sure there's many out there anxiously awaiting something to really get the CV ball rolling. Like an early Beta to play withHuh

Is CV dependent upon your web site? Will any subscription be necessary to use any of CV's features with our own media/trailers/bumpers, or would a sub only be for those wishing to purchase bumpers, etc from your site?

Thanks, Carl.
