Release Mimic 2.x for Isengard
I just reconfigured the music video section. I removed several views and the remaining views use square thumbs only. If you use the music video section for full-length concert movies with poster art, I recommend creating a custom node in the video library. The music video section is now just for individual "artist - song" music videos scraped with the default TheAudioDB scraper.

The master branch on github is now for Kodi 16 Jarvis only. I created an Isengard branch and will continue to update it as necessary. The next version I submit to the Isengard repo will likely be the last big update for Isengard. Will add an announcement to the first post as well...

Among the skin changes so far for Jarvis...

1) Removed all studio logos in favor of the new studio images addon.
2) Added a skin setting to toggle skin debug information.
3) Changed radiobuttons to display On/Off text rather than an image.

There is already a widget that will do this - Recommended TV Shows. Or you can use the Lazy TV addon.

Can you tell me which widget it is please, as I can't seem to figure it out.

I'm fairly new to Kodi, so still learning.

Thanks.

Wasn't looking at the widget list, it's actually called Recommended Episodes. You'll need to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the skin settings for customizing the main menu and widgets.

I have added the most recent changes, and somehow now I'v lost all of the check boxes in the side menu and in add-on settings menus...

See three posts above yours, the master branch on github is now for Kodi 16 Jarvis only. You'll need to download the zip from the Isengard branch on github or upgrade Kodi to Jarvis.

Would really like to do this myself and consolidate some of the views so I can remove a few. Would you mind if I borrow/port/graciously steal Tongue your code for my Aeon Nox 5 mod?

@braz... I originally touched on this subject in v1 (Helix)...

Icon Favourites:

would you consider retaining the selected favourite highlighted/selected text within the icon square.... (as per the un-selected) currently the selected title name for the favourite is denoted in the bottom left hand corner... I find the eye can't be in two places at once. I personally think it would look and function much better if the selected icon retained the title, as you implement with the unselected, you could implement the diffused colour and font colour to distinguish as well as the border.

like I said just an idea, but one I have thought about, hopefully received as intended (genuine user feedback)

as always thanks for all your hard work

Very happy to read this ! I am one of those who are using the "music videos" section of Kodi, and the use cases you are describing (individual music clips with squared-sized artworks (single / album cover) accessed through the "music video" section, and full artist concerts with poster-sized artworks (concert cover) accessed through a custom "concerts" node in the video library) is exactly the approach i have chosen to manage music videos : so having squared thumbs for the musicvideos library in mimic makes me happy Smile

However I noticed a little "something" that looks like a little bug :

On the screenshot posted above, the "seen/unseen" flag seems to be offset from the selected music video. Is it voluntary ?

Moreover, I think you (maybe) should go a little bit further in your "reconfiguration" plan for the music video section, by also applying squared templates for music videos artworks that appear in the screenshots posted below :

What do you think ? Would be great if you coud also apply squared thumbs for these (like it is already the case for music library) Smile

I must admit that i agree with stueeey BlushBlush
This remark also applies to the icon view for musicvideos (please see the first screenshot of this post) BlushBlush

As i already said in a previous post, i'm a regular user of your skin and i really love it (it goes better and better since Helix !).
Thank you for all your hard work, i will make a donation to the kodi community as suggested ! (and if there is a way to make a donation directly to you, i would also be delighted to do it) Nod

Thanks for the input, will look into making those changes. Not sure about the last one though, don't think it would be better to have the long music video titles only on the thumbnails.

Fixes for musicvideos pushed to github. Let me know if you find any more.

I just pushed an update to github that makes the labels on favorites and the artist wall persistent. Didn't do the same for music videos though, will keep thinking about that.
