Is it compatible with emby server?

I think it is, but there was some setting that needed to be set. Something about direct path? I'll see if I can find the post.

Found it!

Did you have to do anything out of the norm to get it working?

You only need to tweak Emby Server if using DSPlayer. The default DVDPlayer only requires a compatible skin. But this addon may be an exception. Setting up direct paths in DSPlayer is done like this:

Emby for Kodi Users

Emby for Kodi users must configure Emby Server for compatibility with DSPlayer. Compatibility requires path substitution is used for folders on the server. This entails converting the path of each Emby folder into the folder's actual path on the computer. A direct Windows path is needed for DSPlayer to correctly read and play each file.

An example of path substitution is shown below:

Emby Server -> Library -> Path Substitution

Each media source listed in the Folders tab requires its original path.

FYI, the DSPlayer implementation of CinemaVision has a bug with trailers. So it will likely take until the next Jarvis Beta release to be fixed.

Hi Warner, Yeah I'm using DSPlayer aswell and have had direct paths setup in emby from the start so I had to do little to get it to work, what is the bug in trailers? not notice it cheers

$300 for that program! Yikes! And it won't save system audio to anything but it's own proprietary file format either. Premiere can't open their .trec files. That's not a good way to play nice!

I tried one free program but it did something very odd to the audio and video, put them way out of sync and then I couldn't match them up. I'll keep poking around to see what I can discover.

It's expensive, but it's nice. The proprietary format is a stop-gap so that you can add overlays like text and images. I'm trying to use that as a way to point things out and give instructions. Saves me time in post. You can then convert the TREC file to any video format. If you wanna mess with it in Premier, just convert it to AVI, MP4 or whatever.

If you set CinemaVision to use iTunes trailers alone, the sequence will skip playing these trailers.

I start CV from the context menu, it then loads a page where you can select another sequence. If you want a setting, whereby it plays different sequences one after the other. I suggest you ask them on the CV forum for that feature.
