Pretty much all of my videos are mp4 containers, x264 video and mp3 audio (encoded with Handbrake).
On my GigaByte E350N PC running OpenElec, they play fine with OpenElec 6 (Kodi 15.2).
Updating to the newer builds and video plays fine but with no sound.

HTPC is connected to TV via HDMI and then from TV to soundbar with optical.
UI sounds play fine, and live/recorded TV also play fine with sound, so the problem does seem limited.

Can you post a 50 MB sample of that file for reproducing?
