Most likely you just need an autostart.sh file to set the proper resolution and refresh rate on startup since your AVR appears to be making a mess of the EDID info
Have tried the custom xorg.conf file fix from the wiki that crippled my entire system and it couldnt boot anymore, got message about bad file ended up restoring to stock and reloading openelec. All help is appreciated as I am tearing my hair out...

Seriously am I blind, I have been looking for 2 1/2 hours on the wiki page and I cant find the examples you are refering to Matt. Could you point me in right direction please..
