It seems that each time I stop a video playback the stop button sound (click) is heard much louder than the actual volume level setting. After that the sound level is OK.

Is the USB disk necessary for the probem? Can you reproduce with photos stored on sdcard or network?
Are you talking about HDMI, analogue, SPI or USB audio?
If this is a new problem then identifying the first build with the issue would provide the best chance of fixing it.
