It could very well be that Kodi doesn't have the ability to detect Audio Format for an ISO file. I'll check with our developer to be sure.

Currently, there is a huge difference in volume between my IMAX intro and subsequent audio bumpers, which makes it almost unusable (unless I quickly adjust between titles, which is less than ideal).

This is on top of audio bumpers not working if set to auto-detect (or even fallback method). CV simply skips to the main feature unless I specifically link to an audio bumper during set-up. Have posted a couple logs a few months ago with the same issue but can do another one. Sounds similar to what Skank describes above (no audio bumpers for .iso files although for me it is .mkv).

Well that's disappointing... I thought we had that licked for some reason. Is your IMAX intro in stereo or is it lossless as well? We recently discovered an issue with our Audio Format Bumpers being mixed down when in MP4 format, so we changed them all to MKV on the site. If you are still using MP4, I'd strongly recommend downloading them all from the site again to ensure you're not actually swapping one format for another and causing your AVR some grief. Barring that, hit me with another log. I might also need to see your Kodi content database and CinemaVision database as well after reviewing the log, to make sure both Kodi and CinemaVision have the correct information in the database.

Okay, I'm a little overwhelmed by the tutorial posts, but I am intrigued and want to try to implement this addon. I had some questions.

Is it just ONE script for ALL movies? Can you program UNIQUE scripts for SPECIFIC movies? I like the idea of just watching a movie with a couple trailers and the audio format bumper matching the movie like a theater experience, BUT I have a few movies that would call for something different. The Phase One Marvel Collection has special AMC movie intros where each movie was introduced by Phil Coulson. It'd be so great to implement these for those particular features! I also think for a movie like Clue, the Bluray picks and plays a random ending. Can't really get that with a straight rip and standard play. Or maybe play the Disney/Pixar short corresponding with its original feature.

I saw a few posts at the beginning of the thread asking for old trailers or trailers of OTHER films in you library. I like that idea, has anyone successfully pulled it off? Personally, I think it'd be neat that if you're playing an old movie, you could find and play trailers relevant to that era.

Thanks, Scott. Log is attached.

I have re-downloaded some audio bumpers from your site but to no avail. If you jump to line 273 you can see that CV is spitting out an error message when trying to open the file. And line 276 marks the item unplayable (even though I've got no problem playing the file on its own). Strangely enough, the IMAX countdown plays flawlessly (see line 321). It is also lossless (DTS HD MA). However with the countdown I have specifically linked CV to the file. I can do the same with audio bumpers and they work but auto-detect seems to be broken for me.

In addition, adjusting the volume in CV settings is limited to lossy files. Anything lossless always plays at the original volume levels, even if I set it to 1%. That could be due to the audio codec.

Let me know if you need anything further.

No idea what's going on with your CV setup, HTG. Are you certain you are scanning all the videos into the CV database? That's the only thing I would guess to be problematic, other than CV having no idea what audio format ISO files are because upon initial scraping neither does Kodi.

Every CV setup I've done has had no issue playing back the proper audio bumpers other than when I had CV scraping issues using a Pi2 over a network share. Moved all the files to the Pi directly and everything scraped in and worked perfectly.

I might also suggest creating another CV sequence that you build just to play audio bumpers and test that. If that's working it might be something corrupt in your main CV sequence file? Just a hunch. Start over with small steps and test the hell out of it.

Hello,

First off I just started using this add-on last night and LOVE it! I already got it to work w/ my VERA system to automate the lights in the theater and did some trivia and theater intros. I was wondering if when there are multiple audio bumper files in one folder does the system randomize playing the files or just grab the same one every time?

It should randomize. That being said it might "randomize" by playing the same "random" video 3 times in a row. It's really just luck of the draw. But it's still awesome! Big Grin

Now that afedchin has been able to activate hardware decoding on a HTPC I'm 99% of the way to making a perfect home cinema experience. The only issue now is when running a CV sequence for a 3D movie, between each 3D trailer or bumper the projector wants to switch out of 3D mode then back into 3D mode which produces a quick blue screen flash and sometimes the active 3D glasses dropping out of 3D mode as well. I've tried setting up the CV action files to disable and then enable the refresh rate change but that either isn't working or I've not got them set properly.

Anyone else dealing with 3D sequences and overcome this issue? If so, your help will be greatly appreciated.

Also, Scott, when did you guys do something to CV to get it to recognize Dolby Atmos? And how? Is it through naming convention, from some information in the MKV file or Hatian Voodo magic? It shocked the heck out of me and is AWESOME! Does dts:x work the same?

I double checked and confirmed that ISO files don't store Audio Format data at all. Because they don't store that information, it can't be scraped into the Kodi database for CinemaVision to use. If you're using ISO files, you will have to either convert them to a format like MKV with all of the metadata and audio tracks intact, or force specific Audio Format Bumpers.

We're overwhelmed too. We're working on some guides, most of which can be found on our website. We'll also be doing video tutorials for features and such.

Right now, you can have as many different Sequences as you want for either 2D or 3D movies. We outlined (but haven't finished yet) a feature that will allow you to create dynamic Sequences based on criteria like name, genre, rating, etc. that exists in the Kodi database. You can currently create different Sequences for things and call to them manually. You'd just set up your Sequence the way you want it for Marvel movies, for example, then when you queue up Marvel movies, choose the Marvel Sequence instead of your default 2D or 3D sequence. Same with the Pixar idea. Smile

A few folks use two different Trailer Modules to accomplish this. You can't make it play trailers for only movies from 1969, but you can have it play only trailers from movies that exist in your library. We'll expand that when we can.

I followed the link to your log and it appears it's been deleted from XBMCLogs. Can I get you to re-upload it?

Really glad you love it! Send us your Action Files so we can modify them and host them for people to make home automation a more turn-key experience. The system should randomize the Audio Format Bumper that's played. It currently only randomizes to the Sequence level. We're working on having it mark those as watched and resetting that flag when all of the videos in the directory have been played.

I really need to invest in a projector to test this stuff out. I wish I could be more help. Do we have others who have overcome this issue? If so, how?

We put that in with version 1.0.9. Smile If you put Atmos, DTS-X, or Auro-3D in the file name, it'll recognize it. Once official support is possible, we'll remove those tags and pull the actual audio format. Big Grin

Funny you mention this because I've been using CV mostly for 2D movies only because I never got the 3D sequences to work for me even when it was using TAB and SBS videos. So I'm wondering will it work now that MVC is finally working for hardware decoding. Also I tired the Dolby Atmos tagging but for some reason it's not working. How would you tag that? Right now I have it like: Unbroken (2015).bluray.dolby atmos.mkv

You sneaky bugger! Slipped that in right under my nose. Dude, it's awesome! And so easy to get to work.

As for my first question, I did download the disable/enable refresh rate action files and I 'think' I edited them correctly but it's just not working. It's the only issue I have with CV now (aside from the audio not kicking in on Onkyo amps which is AVR/HDMI related). Will continue to monkey with it.

3D sequences work almost the same as 2D in the particular set-up I'm working with. There's a few custom folders for 3D files that I point to but otherwise it works exactly like the demo video here. The only difference is a 3D glasses bumper after the courtesy bumper. I'll be making a new preview video soon as I can figure out the refresh rate switching issue.

I'll also work on a tutorial or two to help others out. 3D is an interesting beast but once you get it set-up on a true HTPC it's so fantastic. Still a few hiccups that I'm sure are Krypton related and will be worked out as Krypton develops and matures.

For Atmos, just put Atmos in the filename. And don't use periods. Sofa King Ugly! My file is 'Unbroken (2014) Bluray Atmos 2.40.mkv'.

Thank you for the confirmation. As for the home automation I just used a text file and put a VERA command in there to call a scene. The reason I did it this way is it was much easier to make the scene in the vera do the work and have CV call for just a scene in a txt file. Below is the line I put in my file:

http://"ip address here":3480/data_request?id=action&serviceId=urn:micasaverde-comConfusederviceId:HomeAutomationGateway1&action=RunScene&SceneNum=15

Does CV have a way that I could call for an action x min to the end of the movie? I would like to have the lights brighten around the time credits are rolling in the movie.

Thanks for the reply Smile

So I watched the video, looks super easy to setup and create (seriously, good work). I understand the idea of having a default sequence. But how would I create a specific sequence for a specific film? Is it just a matter of naming the sequence file the same as the movie and/or saving it in the movie directory? Your video doesn't say. EDIT: Oh I see now, you said they have to be called manually. Well, that's a bit of a bummer.

Also, I can understand a year specific trailer finder might be a stretch but I'll take the option to play trailers from movies in my library. Is it an option available in CV? Or do I need some other plugin?

It's actually quite simple. When you select CinemaVision for any movie you'll have a window pop up that will allow you to select any sequence you like. Voila.
