Hey!

I'm using Kodi on an Android 6.0.1 phone and am casting to a Chromecast. I have the Local Cast XML file where it belongs and when I tap to start a movie, of any format, the "play bar," flashes and then disappears without an error message.

Any ideas on how I'm screwing things up?

I have exactly the same problem on an Android 6.0.1 phone and an Android 5.1 HUDL
In the KODI logfile I also have some error messages:

Exception occurred launching de.stefanpledl.localcast
virtual BOOL CExternalPlayer ExecuteAppAndroid Failure

Unless I have missed something (very possible) kodi does not support chromecast.

Cant find anyone who owns the solution, so thought I would ask here as I'm sure its a common need

As far as I know, the external player feature does not work with pictures.

Kodi does not directly support Chromecast, it requires local cast. Once added, local cast appears as the default player.

Ah, I had thought you were since you posted in the picture support sub-forum.

Can you post a debug log (wiki) of when this happens? Maybe point us to a copy of your playercorefactory.xml file as well.

I get the same issue. Just installed Kodi and tried to use it with localcast, servercast, VLC player and it gives the same error in the log.
