Release tinyMediaManager - a media manager written in Java (Win/Mac/Linux)
Very nice. thanks
TMM is great for organisation buffs like me, thanks!

A very minor but weird issue:
One of my movies is the Bond thriller, Die Another Day. Scraped fine, but in the movie list it shows up as "Another Day, Die". No idea how to fix it.
Editing the movie entry shows both the Title and Original Title correctly as "Die Another Day" but the listing persists as "Another Day, Die".
How can I change this? It's setting my teeth on edge...
'Die' is a definite article in German language like 'the' in English or 'la' in Spanisch resp. French.

Menu Settings --> General --> File types --> Title sorting allows you to choose the prefixes, which will affect the sort order. You may delete the entry 'Die' or in case you are German I would leave it as it is, otherwise the order of all other movies will be affected.

The latest nightly build fails to remove movies from the database, the files of which are no longer present in the folder upon running "update data sources" command.

Edit: It doesn't remove old items only when the folder is completely empty. If there's any new files in the folder, then it properly removes all non-existing items from the database.
can you reproduce this with a movie testbed and send us the logs?

Or describes this your problem?
If a movie has been newly added, it is excluded from any cleanup.
So...if you remove now one file of this movie, and do another update/cleanup... it is not checked.
IF you restart TMM, the status "new" is dropped, and the cleanup should work again?

I can reproduce what you said. But that's not what I reported.
As a test, I added two movies to the TMM db (latest nightly build).

1. Close and open TMM again to make sure "new" marks got dropped from both movies.
2. Close TMM again.
3. Remove all files from the source folder.
4. Open TMM and run "Update data sources", but the two movie items in the db stay.

Code:

5. At this point, add a new movie file to the source folder.
6. Run "Update data sources" again, and this time it correctly removes the two movies and adds a new one to the db.

Hello!

I just played around with TMM and I love the clean and simple look and handling. But a few questions i have...

Are Actor thumbs possible for TV Shows? For Movies i fond where to enable it, but not for TV Shows?
Can i scrape only Actors. Actually for me it seems that only with a comlete new scraping.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Jhag
Hi I would like to congratulate the team on a wonderful piece of software, I was so happy I donated to the cause, I was hoping that after I donated that the big yellow donate button would disappear but its still there.... I would kindly like to ask the developers if they can in the next release please please please can you give us the option to hide the big yellow donated button at the top right corner

... Many thanks Jason

P.S Would also be nice to have a option to minimize app to system tray.
I just picked up TMM (Linux) today and really like the clean, intuitive interface. I expect to be spending some quality time with this app, massaging my KODI library...

One quick question, which I haven't seen addressed here, though I confess I haven't read every single post...

I pointed TMM at my movie folder, which is on a NAS. Each movie is in a sub folder named as the movie title and also contains a recently exported nfo file. Oddly, once TMM has imported all the movies and information, some movies listings do not show a genre. Yet the nfo files do, in fact, have a genre listed.

Any idea what might cause this?

Thanks!

RLW
Do you see the genres while editing the movie?
Or just don't see any genre pics?
We usually use 1:1 what we read from NFO...
Can you send me one?

Thanks Myron,

On closer inspection, there is a lot more than Genre missing from the affected movies - roughly all metadata is missing. I would say that roughly 1/4 to 1/3 of my movies did not import properly, yet all have recently exported nfo files (from Kodi). I'll attach a couple screen shots if I can figure out how (if you want them), but here are the contents of the nfo from the movie.

Thanks,
Robert
the posted NFO is not xml conform.
The </movie> tag ends, and the last 5 lines.... are duplicated?
Which tool created this NFO? Kodi?

Yes, all my nfo files were created by KODI 16.1.

So I checked random movie nfo files and every one that doesn't show properly in TMM is malformed as you pointed out. Very odd. I think I'll purge all nfo files from my Movie folder and have KODI export them again. Previously when I did this I let KODI overwrite existing ones, which shouldn't make any difference...
