I use a lot of time kodi 16.1 as portable because my pc isnt allow my to install programms due policy.
I try it to make a portable edition with kodi 17 beta 2 but i cant.
Is something changed or kodi 17 beta 2 isnt support portable like the others, changing the target name of shortcut with -p in the end?
Thank you

Can't speak for beta 2 (although I'm pretty sure it worked, can't remember), but I know the latest nightlies work just fine as portable.

Does kodi17 run if you don't use the -p switch?
Obviously re-name your kodi data folder to test that if you have an existing 'normal' pre-krypton install or it'll be overwritten.
- just wondering if this is specific to portable, or for any running of v17.

The problem is that Kodi running on windows requires the VC++ runtime libraries and assumes they have been installed on the system hosting Kodi (actually, by default the Kodi windows installer includes the vcredist installer and runs it as part of the install. VC++ 2015 is required for Kodi 17 (that's a change from 16).
So you need to download the MS vcredist installer or unzip it from the Kodi installer and run it on the target system. You might be able to hunt down the correct libraries (sysWOW64 dll files) or copy them from a working system into your USB drive install of Kodi, though I'm not sure all windows OS will allow those dll to load from usb location.

Ok, my it install it,but now when i try to start it says that
api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from my computer.
They install me the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 version 14.0.23026
What else should they install to run it??
I use windows 7 ,is this a problem?

I'm running a few versions of Krypton in portable mode on a windows 7 computer. I have seen this error and have assumed it's because I didn't install the entire VC++ runtime libraries. My conclusion is your 'it' might have installed a VC++ but perhaps not the needed one. If the system has failed to find api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll then there's more that I have from the same date (Sunday, October 30, 2011, 9:25:39 PM) it will probably need those too. [product version 6.1.17601 17851]
Here's a print out of my installed VC++ packages... most probably overlay one another in some way. At one point I blindly deleted all but the last, and then ended re-installing the works.... Now I just leave them. Kodi v16 and lower: Visual C++ 2013

My advice: leave those C++ installations alone. The reality is that they're small, usually no more than a couple megabytes, and different versions may be linked to different programs you've installed. It's darn near impossible to know which one is associated with which, and deleting one might render a program inoperable--a hassle you definitely don't need.
