It would be a list of the most common PVR title matching rules to get you started quickly.
That way not everyone has to create the same rules. Like a basic set of matching rules delivered with the script and you create you own ones.

I see, nevertheless I still support the local solution ;-)
A centralised solution poses new questions, e.g. which server should be used? fanart.tv and tmdb.com are already groaning under far too heavy a load, what happens if the server is not available, who decides in case of disputed entries which one to keep etc.
What I was thinking about is the priority between options like character splitter, ignoring words and a list. I believe first of all the list has to be searched for the entry, if nothing is found the other options should apply.

Marcel,
I really, really like what Emby has done with their TV library views - specifically, "Suggestions" page. They have added the episode information BELOW the thumb artwork without doing an overlay, it retains the beauty of the artwork.
I know some people did not like the Titan widget change to show the season poster and it's not quite what I was hoping it would be either. I think what would make everybody happy would be to emulate what Emby has done.
As it is now, the episode information overlays and covers up the artwork (be it poster or thumb), it really detracts from the beauty of the artwork. What Emby has done is to simply put the info below the artwork. It's simplistic, yet elegant and it works great! Doing this in Titan would be fantastic. I understand it would cause some adjustments in some of the views to add an info box below the poster, but in most cases (Modern Big Vertical Home Layout), vertical real estate isn't much of an issue.
Bonus request: If you can figure out how Emby tinted the info box below the artwork to match the thumb artwork colors, that would blow my mind!

I'm admittedly *very* picky about how the data is displayed. I didn't go into detail on why I'm not using the Library because it's unrelated to the skin, but here's a quick rundown of why I can't use it if you're curious...
And yes, I know that some of these things are fixable using nfo files, but my library is too big to do that manually and every automated solution will run into all the same issues that will have to be fixed manually.
- My series folder names have additional info that has to be displayed as-is and the scraper and library ignore it. For example there are three series called "The Bridge", in my series folder names I put the starting year and country of origin to differentiate them. the Library just shows the TVDB names which is "The Bridge" plus a year for all but the first of that title. All series folder names also have the originating network in brackets for a quick visibility at-a-glance.
- My season folder names also have extra info, for example when I have all episodes of "Season 1", I rename the folder to "Season 1 (Complete - 1080p BluRay-Remux)". So I know immediately as soon as I open up the series if I have all the episodes in the series and exactly what quality every single file is.
- Extras. There are a lot of solutions to get these integrated into the Library, and none of them are particularly good. For example, inside my "Walking Dead" folder I have 5(!) Extras folders, and by default Kodi thinks those are actual episodes and scrapes the wrong data for them. Excluding the extras folders from the library scan and using one of the available plugins to view them is very cumbersome.
- I also just don't like the TVDB naming scheme! All of my series are named the way I want them, not the way TVDB thinks is correct. For example I don't want "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", I want "Agents Of SHIELD".
It all boils down to what I consider to be a fundamental flaw in how Kodi handles metadata in relation to files. It uses the files to grab metadata, but then it puts the metadata at a higher priority and then invisibly attaches files behind it. I believe that is backwards, it should put the files front-and-center and use the available metadata to enhance them. This is essentially how the File browser views operate but they were never coded to take full advantage of the possibilities.
In short, the file browser displays *everything* exactly the way I want it to be displayed (because my folder organization is impeccable), the only exception being that the preferred view modes have to be re-set every time a new folder is opened. I guess there is one more thing that may or may not be related to your skin... I have an external program (that I wrote myself) to download artwork and save it to the series and season folders. In the series folder I have "fanart.jpg" (which displays as a background when a series folder is highlighted), and in the season folders I have "fanart.jpg" (which displays as the background when a season folder is highlighted) and "folder.jpg" (which displays season posters when a season folder is highlighted). When entering a season folder, the fanart background is not displayed at all, I presume it's looking for "Highlighted FileName_fanart.jpg"? Is there any way to make it use that folders fanart.jpg instead of the highlighted item?

My brother uses Emby and I have considered both that and Plex. I'm hoping to avoid them because it's kind of a sledgehammer for what I feel is (or at least should be) a relatively small nail... I'm also not sure that I wouldn't end up with many of the same problems that require lots of manual intervention to fix or customize. My TV archive is over 1,000 series and 43,000 episodes. Manually checking all of those to ensure the level of accuracy I require is something I'm not willing to do! I would vastly prefer *no* metadata vs *wrong* metadata.

I've added a widget to the home screen and each item displays the percentage of the video which has been watched. However when I click on it always starts from the begining.
When I reach the video the "usual" way (video->addons->....) it displays the menu with resume/start from the begining option. Am I missing some configuration in order to achieve this behaviour on the widget? Or is this a feature which is not implemented yet? Is there any way of jumping to the details of the video (from the widget) and play the video from there (with the resume/start from the begining menu)?
This is a known issue for the plexbmc addon. In fact that addon is outdated and hasn't been updated for a while.
If I remember correctly I once fixed this particular issue, in that case you should give my version of plexbmc a try.
Download the files from Github (as zaip), unpack and manually overwite your existing files on disk:

Just another thing. Is it possible to show the rating in the movie/tv show detailed info (on top of the widget) or to jump to the detail of the movie from the item of the widget?

Is it possible to add the option "Deactivate Exra-fanart" in the Netflix-view and maybe extend the plot information in this view by one additional line ?

Hi all,
When using the vertical menu layout, is there any reason for only being able to make 4 widgets per menu shortcut. It would be great to be able to make more(Trying to make a movie menu shortcut, where all my movies have a row for each genre). If it isnt possible, is there anyone who has made a workaround?
Thanks,
Anders

For sports, I'm trying to have the new games show up in widgets at the top of the list like it does for tv & movies. To do this I guess it needs a 'recently added' column. Path currently is select widget, video library, sources, file where sports are kept. I have tried a sports scraper but didn't work. So currently it shows the games but in decending order.

@all: I've been busy last weeks rewriting large parts of the skin and helper addons.
A new skin beta will come within a few days with much improved speed, stability and more features.
Also I'll take the time to answer the questions here. Please be patient for a few more days :-)

Can you slightly increase the size of the plot so all 4 rows are readable? As it is, the 4th row is cutoff. Or show 3 rows only, either way is fine...
Thanks

Here are two things I think would be great, both on the widgets on the home screen
- Have watched marker on movies you've seen
- Have number of episodes left marker for a tv show
Thanks and keep up the great work

Hello, not sure if any of this behavior already exists, but.... what im looking for is:
1. I want to use the netflix style home menu layout 2, but I would also like the vertical menu to look like the Modern Big Vertical Homescreen Layout at the same time.
2. In addition to this, I want to be able to go all the way to the right on a home screen widget and end up on the left, and go all the way left and end up on the right, with out opening up the vertical menu. Instead, activating the vertical menu with the push of a menu button on my remote.
3. not sure if this is even possible, but being able to bring up the confluence menu from a widget.
thanks again for all the hard work.

Hello,
Is it possible to press "left" instead of "right" to open submenus while main menu is in verticle mode?
Thanks.
Edit:
I edited "IncludesHomeVertical.xml" to open the submenu on a left press, do nothing on another left press, and return focus to the main menu and close the submenu on a right press. Everything works correctly. Will I have to do this every time the skin is updated? Would it be possible to get a toggle in a future version to let the left press submenu be an option, or is it not something that is high on the list of important things?
Thanks again, I really like the skin!
