Android Passthrough Changes with v17
If it's android 6 then dts should be available if you have a decent box with correct firmware. If not then it's not our problem anymore.
I have several devices and they all have dts

The same box played DTS in Kodi 16.1 and not sure why Kodi 17 version should convert the DTS to AC3,
Listed my settings already, please help

The reason has been discussed many times already.
If it's S905 you might have broken firmware so complain to the place where you bought it. There is absolutely nothing we will do about this.

Can you also tell what hardware you have (receiver, soundbar, TV, ...) and how they are linked (hdmi, spdif) and in which order

This way we could check if your kodi settings are good

Box connected via spdif with AV receiver
Sounds like sync playback to display is enabled. But 10 posts again, cause user does not post a Debug Log ...
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Lipsync problem seems to be solved i adjusted the sound delay to +200ms :-)

Nok the only two problems i got left is that i'm sure hos to set the interlace settings for SD and HD channels

And i have no Channel logos ?
Both issues offtopic, create your own thread, please

Sorry don't know where to post the issue , thought this is the forum for DTS passthrough issue for android.
Kodi release candidate 2 promised to resolve DTS pt issue but I'm getting only PCM stereo
Please help

Using android box version 6.1 and connected spdif audio and tv with hdmi

You may need to enable sync playback with display so that all Dts will transcode to AC3, that is still unacceptable in this new version
(2017-01-08, 15:55)fritsch Wrote: Nope. It's not mandatory.

Let's do it by example:

Configuration 0:
PCM 5.1 channels
AC3 Passthrough enabled
Transcoding enabled

Sync Playback to Display: Enabled

Configuration 1:
PCM 5.1 channels
AC3 Passthrough enabled
Transcoding enabled

Sync Playback: Disabled

Configuration 2:
PCM 2.0 channels
AC3 PT enabled
Transcoding enabled

Sync Playback: Disabled

Configuration 3:
PCM 2.0 channels
AC3 PT enabled
Transcoding enabled

Sync Playback Enabled

Now we play the following files (all with h264 video, so video files): AC3 640 Kbit/s (1) DTS (2) 5.1 flac (3)

In configuration 0
PCM 5.1 output (1)
PCM 5.1 output (2)
PCM 5.1 Output (3)
Reason: Sync Playback to Display

In configuration 1
AC3 Output 640 Kbit/s PT (1)
PCM 5.1 output (cause we don't have DTS support, would be DTS if we had support for it) (2)
PCM 5.1 Output (3)

In configuration 2
AC3 Output 640 Kbit/s PT (1)
DTS transcoded to AC3 (cause of Transcoding and no 5.1 output available) (2)
Flac output as AC3 - as we cannot output 5.1 via PCM, only 2.0 channels (3)

In configuration 3
AC3 transcoded to AC3 cause of Sync Playback to Display (1)
DTS transcoded to AC3 (cause of Transcoding and no 5.1 output available) (2)
Flact 5.1 transcoded to AC3 (cause of no PCM 5.1 output available) (3)

So you will not get DTS at any configuration in Kodi 17?
Kodi obviously supports DTS, DTS-HD, TrueHD, EAC3 if the firmware implements it. For DTS v23 of the api is needed.

Sorry what is api v23?
Provide your Debug Log and I can say you if we support it on your device. Play a DTS video and afterwards post the Debug Log ...
