Disable estuary autoscroll
#1
Hello everyone,

First of all, I would like to say that I really like the new Kodi default skin. The new design is really nice. Big Grin

I would like to ask if is possible to disable the autoscroll feature. I am using Kodi in a traditional notebook running windows 10, using as input a mouse + notebook keyboard.

Sometimes, when I move the mouse the skin autoscroll to the top or bottom of the content listening. That makes navigation a bit confuse.

In touch devices autoscroll makes sense, but in a traditional pc no.
Probably that feature already exist, but I dont found it yet. If someone could help me... Smile

I think that the problems is that autoscroll in some views, not all, is imposible to handle.

There are some views that work moving cursor to the corner, this is fine (at least for me), but there are other views that works only "moving" the cursor on the list (without need to go to the border), you move the cursor up and the list move up and very fast (imposible to select nothing).

I supose that this is a bug.

I second this request. It particularly causes me problems when browsing photos.

I believe that the problem is that the mouse move events are triggering an up or down every time you waggle the mouse.

I haven't really come up with a viable solution other than changing the view type to one that doesn't autoscroll

you can't disable it for everything, but there is a settings in "Settings -> Interface -> Skin -> Configure Skin -> General" to enable/disable auto scrolling for plot and reviews. Does that help already?

It probably won't

They talk about autoscroll when your mouse is on a list view

Launch kodi and put your mouse on the bottom of the menu on the left -> it will autoscroll down

Go to your movie library in list view and put your mouse down on the list -> autoscroll down
Moanbag is in da place!

ah, that. Well, Kodi will move the focused item to the defined view port, thus, if your mouse is hovering and thus focusing a list item at the very bottom that's f.e. not entirely visible, it'll scroll one item down to show the focused list item.

edit: please note that Estuary is not yet fully optimised for mouse and touch, so expect some quirks here and there.

@da-anda

The 'quirk' is ok if there are not too many items in the list, however if there are many lines, it becomes impossible to select an item as it auto scrolls far too fast and too far. The only way to use Kodi is to choose another theme which is sad because Estuary is so cool!

Is there no way to turn this feature off?

I definitelly second this.
It might be nice, but I tried so many things and settings, to no avail, so I gave up.
I just downgraded back to Jarvis and the mouse movement and selector just became normal again.
Regardless what is being said, this option is a MUST. You just cannot bring to "production" a version that has this huge problem.
And btw, Jarvis was working just fine on my phone... the touch too.

And AUTOSCROLL? Who really needs that?

Why downgrade? if Estuary on Krypton is causing you problems then just switch to whatever skin you had been using on Jarvis.
