This same product in canada, correct?

Anyone in canada use these? Worthwhile? Or are some apps not available?

The European plug in the pictures doesn't give me a lot of confidence I read on NCIX that a use had to buy the connectors. I don't understand Patchwall either I thought that was the Xiaomi UI on Android not the Android TV interface.

My US Walmart purchased MiBox works as expected in Canada at least with Kodi, Spotify and Netflix.

This Patchwall should be the Chinese box version with the propriatery UI:

No idea what "Patchwall" means - looks like they have made it up !

They list the Chinese Language - Mi Box the 3S (which should be listed as Model MDZ-16-AA) Sad

- yet - mistakingly and confusingly have the model number as the USA Spec Mi Box - MDZ-16-AB

Buyer beware - you don't know what you are getting. Don't buy the 3S

@wrxtasy

this one looks legit then, right?

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B01MQSVBL4...=MDZ-16-AB

Otherwise, you say the aliexpress one from Spain. Is it quicker shipping to US/Canada than from China, by chance?

Thx

Anyone got an E.T.A. when they Xiaomi will officially release Android TV 7.0 (Nougat) for the international Xiaomi Mi Box?

Last november they tweeted "early Q1" which have past now, and their Twitter account been dead a couple of months now.

https://twitter.com/XiaomiUSA/status/801075881238151168

...or bar that, Android TV 7.1 for that matter if they are planning to skip over the 7.0 version for Xiaomi Mi Box?

My main reason for wanting the update is Swedish voice remote control (Google Assistant) for the family.

Mi.com support and FAQ gives no answers http://www.mi.com/en/support/MiBox_FAQ/

Being made in partnership with Google one would have expected it to get Android TV 7.0 (Nougat) sooner rather than later.

https://www.android.com/tv/xiaomi-mi-box/

So far I however only know of Nvidia Shield TV getting an official release of the Android TV 7.0 (Nougat) version.

1 year = 12 months / 4 (Quarters) = 3 monthly periods.

Q1 = January thru March = 3 months Wink

I know that. But they tweeted: "early Q1" and not 'late Q1'.

I am just saying that "early" Q1 have come and gone.

It can be considered 'middle' Q1 for a few more days, then 'late'.

Is it possible to expand the storage with a small USB thumb drive and make it available to Kodi or SPMC to use? I'm concerned about metadata information causing the internal storage to run out of space.

Thanks.

Haha keep your hair on.

It was reported by someone around launch that 23.976 content is actually output as 23.878 or something, that could result in a stutter skip every 1-2 minutes is that what you are seeing ?

Hi, thanks for your reply i was starting to think i was invisible Angel would say about every minute, but it seems not everyone is seeing the judder on there box's and getting smooth playback....seems strange in this day and age that players over 5 years ago are able to play formats correctly and newer boxes are having the same issues.
I wish i never sold my Dune prime nowSad

When I get time I'll try to run some 24p stuff through and see if I spot anything. If you can find a good test clip and say "it skips at the 60 second mark" or something I would be happy to test. Most likely the issue is there but most people don't spot it or pretend not to Smile
