For anyone needing a fix now here is a link to the zip file from Github with the updated version https://github.com/robweber/xbmcbackup/a...master.zip I've been submitting changes to the Jarvis branch so anyone on Jarvis, Krypton, or Leia builds will get things working again with that version.
I've had the pull request in the Kodi repo since Sunday, just waiting for it to be approved and replicated out. Sorry for the delay.

In a separate branch I've been working on a major update to the file selection and restore process. This adds a lot of good features and flexibility to backup file selection and restorals. At this point I think it's about 90% complete so any brave souls that want to test some stuff have at it.
The branch for everything is: https://github.com/robweber/xbmcbackup/tree/krypton
I have a pull request with instructions here: https://github.com/robweber/xbmcbackup/pull/117

The googleapi addon was updated recently with some breaking changes for the current Backup version in the repo. Since the addon.xml file still had the older googleapi version listed I didn't think this would be a breaking change. In any case, hopefully it's resolved quickly.Current GitHub update working. I was still getting an error after the update. Resetting backup resolved the issue.

Thanks
Thanks for posting that. I was also still getting the error message after updating from github. Changing the add-on settings back to defaults eliminated the error message. I've now re-enabled the scheduler to back up every Sunday morning at 3 AM, and the normal Backup notification appears at Kodi start up. I guess I'll find out if everything is working correctly when I wake up on Sunday.

I confirm the bug is solved by using the latest github release as mentionned by Blurayx : https://github.com/robweber/xbmcbackup/
I installed it by downloading the zip file, then in Kodi i went to Add-ons, click on the box icon in the top and then "install from zip file.

Hello!
I have the same problem as the ones above on 16.1: I have installed the new 1.1.0 version, but it still gives me the "Error" message. I have tried a several times but still no success...
I want to get my backup back from my KODI 16.1 version and then "overinstall" it with the 17.6 (since this is the only way), but I'm stuck with the Backup add-on on 16.1.
Could you fix it also for 16.1 pls?!
Thank you!

Anyone that still has issues I'd recommend the following:
1) please re-install from Git version. An issue with the scheduler (unrelated to api.discovery error) was pointed out on Github. It may be affecting some people. It's updated now. When Kodi repo updates this fix is included as well.
2) please check your dependencies. Because the only fix now is to install the addon via a zip file dependencies are not going to automatically be updated like they would if you're installing from the main repo. For this addon you need the following:

Anyway, I guess I will have to reinstall everything and start afresh since I don't know how to fix it.
