Quite weird really. I'd really like to know if DX9 or DX11 is the better mode; my Geforce 1030 will support either happily.
Also does this MadVR change the refresh rate of the TV to match the source material? I cannot tell if that is happening.

You have a 1030? I am considering upgrading to this card, can you tell me if you can enable 10 bpc in Nvidia control panel with that card. I searched the whole google without answers. It's the only thing holding me down from buying one.
Better use a 1050TI, the 1030 is too slow and has too less VRAM for good madVR Experience

For those running 4K HDR rips with DSPlayer, what hardware do you have?
I have a Pentium G3420 @ 3.2Ghz and a Geforce 1030 2Gb card. The video's play but it's stuttering constantly. CPU seems to be maxed out which is odd as I thought in DXVA2 mode the graphics card took care of the decoding.
I also notice the GPU VRAM runs up to 1934Mb which to me sounds like the VRAM is maxed out?

Can anyone running 4K HDR rips without performance issues let me know what hardware you run. I'm particularly interested in the VRAM issue as the 1030 is billed as the perfect HTPC card.
use lav video decoder and activate dxva native.. thats it

Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced an issue with the resume function not working when using Plex for Kodi within Kodi DSPlayer utilizing MadVR.  I've spent several hours with no success trying to resolve this issue. I've tried both 32bit and 64bit versions with the same issue.

The file always starts from the beginning even though on the progress bar below the synopsis prior to hitting "play" it correctly approximates graphically where it should have resumed. The only way I've found for resume to work as intended within Plex for Kodi is to turn off DSPlayer as the default video player which sadly defeats the whole purpose.  I'm not smart enough to know if this is a technical issue with how DSPlayer works, or if it's simply an error on my end.  Thanks!

if it works when you set DS to use the standard video player then it means DS is storing the resume data in its own database I guess, or it blocks access to that database from other plugins other than the standard video player.

Although, i'm trying to understand why anyone would use the plex app in KODI DS, if you prefer plex why not use the windows plex app?

kodi plex connect where you have to use the plex repo?  or the default plex one in regular repo?   Because I use plex kodi connect and resume works fine for me, for the most part.  If i stop a show/movie, and come back five minutes later it sometimes shows as not watched at all, at that point I just go to the plex app and force and update and the resume mark is where i left off when I hit stop.

Hmm is 1030 really too slow for madvr? 1050ti are not so cheap considering it's only for watching movies on it, theres also the rx 560 any good used cards to look out for, with 10 bit ofc?

all depends on what you want to do with MADVR really, if most of your content is 1080p bluray quality a 1030 might be completely fine. Depends if you want to let you TV upscale or whether you want to add sharpening etc.

My RX550 produces a lovely picture using MADVR, MADVR upscales 1080p>4k and I use NGU sharp medium for image upscale and Lanczos for Chroma. I do have a decent CPU as well though (I7) and its all running off an SSD.

Because MadVR is very much superior to Plex's renderer.

It's for adding sharpening, scaling is not needed yet as I have one of the better 1080p displays that got released in the past. No need for an upgrade yet.

I have the same setup except for the card only a puny gts 450 from old pc.

Can you try something for me. If your RX550 can do Steam in home streaming without issues?

The one I'm experiencing the problem with is Plex for Kodi found in the default repo.  It sounds like you're using PlexKodiConnect which works a little differently as it builds its own database independent of the Plex media server.  Not ideal for my use, but I'll give it a shot and see if it works.  Thanks!

it is so much better than using that built in one in the default repo.   for one, it doesn't put an overlay over the video all the time, reducing madvr's que to a max of 2.  For DS users, it's just better in general, but if i was to just use regular kodi, i'd switch.

I can second the issue with resuming via plex for kodi. Maybe log a bug on the plex forums, although it hasn't had any love for some time so you may not even get a response.

It actually mirrors the database, using Kodi's built in database structure.  And then you can use any skin you prefer to see the shows and movies as you like.
