Press INFO on your remote.

Hi jurialmunkey, I have been a big fan of using Arctic: Zephyr on Krypton, which was flawless for my needs, for a long time and now I upgraded and started using Arctic: Zephyr 2 on Leia. I know its still on Alpha Phase, but I have 1 major issue with it. On Arctic: Zephyr 2, lots of times, when I play a Video or Video Stream through a Widget. It loads up, but then it keeps reloading and reloading the video and gets stuck in an endless loop. The only way to get out is if you press cancel while the loading window pops up, then it stops looping and streams like normal. Is their a way you can quick hotfix this issue? Thanks alot.

2. I also would like to know if Arctic: Zephyr 2 will also have a 'Kiosk Mode' anytime soon? These two are the most major things I liked in Arctic: Zephyr 1 and would like it to remain in Arctic: Zephyr 2.

3. Have you thought about having the option to Lock Custom Menus? Like say I want to have an Adult Only Custom Menu on the Front Page. I would like the ability to have some lock or password system on it so Kids cant easily access it. Any lock options I have found only lock specific Video Addons or the Settings. But does not lock Custom Menus that I personally made on Arctic: Zephyr 1. Thanks for all your work.

PS. I wonder why I have not seen someone develop a simple, comfortable, Skin that just has horizontal rows of Pictures to navigate? Kind of like the Amazon Fire TV or Netflix Menu. I would dig a Skin like that.

1. Unlikely to be a skin issue and never happens to me. Are you sure this doesn't happen in other skins. Likely either an addon or Leia issue.
2. Yep, Kiosk mode is planned.
3. Why don't you use profiles. That's why profiles exist.

Did you try other skins using these widgets? The skin can't control what the play action is, so it's likely either an issue with the Leia version of whatever addon you are using or an issue with Leia itself. You need to eliminate other variables first.

One way you can check whether it is the skin is by testing with other skins - if the issue is also in other skins, then it's unlikely to be a skin issue - it's only a skin issue if it only happens in AZ2. There is a Leia version of AZ1 on github, so you could even test with that.

Literally no one else has reported such issues and you would expect bugs like these to be reported en-masse because it basically breaks the skin entirely. That's what makes me think it is something related to your setup alone.

Yes, I tried it with AZ1 on Leia. And it creates the same issue when I play Streams through Widget, it just keeps reloading the stream over and over. However, I tried it on Aura Widgets and some other skins Widgets on Leia and they work fine. I was certain that it could be a weird Widget Interaction with Leia, but on Aura Skin, that is very similar to AZ, it works fine. I might just stick with Aura Skin for the time being, its almost like AZ2 anyways, but without this looping issue. Thanks.

That has only happened once so far. I am on auto update, but apart from that one time, things have been fine.

Possible bugs:

• I've ticked the option to blur backgrounds, but if open the info dialog from a background widget on the home screen, the background is not blurred.
  

Suggestions for improvement:

• Opening the info dialog of a TV show and browsing into a season from there yields some unwanted behavior if I proceed to "backspace" my way out to the main menu.
  

 

• The animation when browsing into a TV show from a main menu background widget is a bit choppy.
  

 

• I'm using the poster showcase view. In the season overview I suggest that the A-Z line is changed to the regular scroll indicator. 
  

Requests:

• In the info dialog, give an option to hide the artwork section at the very bottom. It would also be neat if you could make the same section default to the discart/logo/tagline artwork if available for movies.
  

 

• An option to disable auto-scroll. You could perhaps add a "..." at the end of a movie or TV show plot with lots of text. The "..." would indicate that there's more text and opening the plot overlay or info dialog would let you read the remaining text.
  

 

• I've added a submenu shortcut to "Video Library > TV Shows > Years" and "Video Library > Movies > Years". Do you have any plans to add any artwork or icons to replace the generic folder icon? I think that would spice things up quite a bit!
  

 

• This is a long shot, but here goes... Is there ANY way to include an option to add multiple search buttons (one for each submenu) that shows seperate search results? Example: Let the "Search" button in the Spotify submenu search the Spotify addon only and let the "Search" button you've added to your "Movies" submenu search movies, actors, directors etc...

This was a one time thing due to some changes in how I was handling the menu layout options - it occurred with the addition of fixed width menus

Brilliant skin, I was wondering 2 things. Is there a way to quicken the widgets on the information pages. Such as special features and next up. Also is there a search function that can integrate into the skin, the one Made for the Bingie skins is very good. Is there anything similar.

I have two requests, could it be possible to hide the name of the movies like in the previous Arctic Zephyr?

And then, maybe you already put the option but, how to hide the clearlogo in the movies of the home menu?

Hi,

First of all. I absolutely love this skin. Don't think I'll ever use another one again.

There is one thing I want added to it, but if its not possible? That's OK to.

That is, when using the 'Last Played Channels' widget with the skin called Mimic. If you've got an EPG loaded, the channel names would change in to the live TV show that was playing at the moment, on that channel.

Example: instead of 'CBS HD' it would say 'Late Show with Stephen Colbert'.

I hope you could look into it. Thanks for your hard work.
