Release "iPlayer WWW" add-on
(2019-07-19, 23:20)berkhornet Wrote: Hello

I just noticed a small bug when trying to play radio streams. In settings, when Steams / Video Settings / Stream Protocol is set to DASH, radio streams fail to play. If I reset to HLS for the Video Stream Protocol, radio streams play fine. Any help appreciated. Thanks for the addon.

Thanks for reporting this issue. I think I know what the problem is. There is no DASH streams for radio, but we set the playable type to DASH, which will fail. I tried a workaround, but now I don't get any radio programmes any more, except for live radio, and that does not play.

Can you let me know if you see radio programmes when stream protocol is set to HLS?

Apologies for the confusion, the whole radio code was initially provided by @primaeval, and I still don't know my way around it.

Hi. thanks for response. When stream protocol is set to HLS live radio plays fine. For catch up radio all the menu options return a blank list with no items listed. Thanks again.

I've just installed this and it works very nicely for TV material.  I do have two questions, if I may:

Is it possible to access subtitles (for those programmes which have them)?

How do I access radio programmes?  I see that there does appear to be some difficulty with them at the moment, but I can't even find "radio" as an option.

Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum, then!

You can enable subtitles in the add-on settings in Kodi. When you are in the main menu, hover over the add-on icon and do a right click (or whatever that corresponds to if you are on a streaming box). This will open a menu which contains the a link to settings.

Radio is somewhat broken at the moment, it needs a real overhaul. However, it is a different section in Kodi. When in the add-on menu, you should see listings of video and audio add-ons. This add-on should appear in both categories. If you select the icon in the video section you get TV. If you select the one in audio, you get radio.

CaptainT, thanks for that  I'll give both a go.

CaptainT, that led to mixed results.  I navigated to Settings - Add-ons and that gave me a page headed "General" and the following options:

Updates
Show notifications
Manage dependencies
Running
Unknown sources
___________________
Reset above settings to defaults

Nothing about subtitles and no way, as far as I can see, to move on to other pages beyond "General".

The radio iPlayer was more successful.  I can now listen to a whole string of BBC stations but "listen live" is the only menu option which seems to be working: there's no facility for bringing up previously broadcast shows.  But perhaps this is the "somewhat broken" situation you mentioned.

You reached the add-on settings of Kodi. These settings are related to all add-ons. What you need is the iPlayer WWW add-on settings. As explained before, the easiest way to get there is a right click on the iPlayer WWW add-on icon at the same place you usually enter/start the add-on.

Yes, this is what I referred to as broken.

CaptainT, I now have the iPlayer subs up and running; thanks for your help.  And for explaining about the radio side of things; it will be good to have the full capability some time.

Hi,I’ve been using the Kodi add on for a long time, using Le vpn,and have about 60 download speed before factoring in the vpn.
All other add ons are working fine.
Suddenly, the streams both live and catch up are stuttery,if there’s such a word. I’m set to HLS and Limelight with bitrate on maximum.
I’m using an Android box. A friend nearby is using a Firestick which I set up and having the same problem.
Could an add on called Elementum be interfering with it ? No idea where this came from ,probably a leftover dependency from a different build, but the iPlayer refers to Elementum dealing with torrents while iPlayer is trying to populate. I could be barking up the wrong tree.
Any ideas? I suspect I need to adjust settings but so far tried and failed.
Thank you,it’s a great add on

There are forum rules (wiki) that describe the no-tolerance towards add-ons facilitating video piracy.
So don't mention them anymore on this forum.

Also note our VPN policy (wiki).

I have just loaded they I Playa www. The download went well and the add-on as is established, however, I am experiencing problems in viewing any programs. I went to the alphabetical list selected a random program and a pop-up box came up telling me that I was an error. I particularly wanted to watch a series call Black Widow but it is not listed as being available. I have a VPN imats located in London so I shouldn't have any problems with authorized use. What is happening or what am I doing that is preventing this add-on from working properly?

The BBC have become very good at blocking foreign connections from VPN's, which may well apply in this case.

Also you may wish to note our VPN policy (wiki), especially that we do not support the bypassing of geolocking on this site.

I’ve deleted Elementum, keeping the censors happy, and eureka the problem is solved.
For some reason it was interfering with iPlayer,no idea why.
Sorry to have troubled you but,I repeat,it’s a great add on so I’d like to thank Captain T
