Release TheMovieDB - TV Show scraper (XML)
(2020-02-24, 23:38)sallenko Wrote: Ok. So that was the missing link. Thank you for correcting it. I will try try again tomorrow.
Sorry, I made a mistake. I had the wrong scraper active. TheMovieDB scraper still cannot find the tv show, nor can TheMovieDB API.

Please use the method described by DarrenHill.

Hello,

I'm reporting an issue I'm currently having when adding Pokémon TV show to the Kodi library.

The folder structure on the hard disk is:

Code:
C:\Users\00918203\Videos\Serie TV\Pokémon (1997)

in which there are the following files (just two video files for testing purposes):

Code:
fanart.jpg, poster.jpg, S20E01.mkv, S20E43.mkv, season20-poster.jpg

The issue is simply that the TV show is not added to the Kodi library (I use the scraper with the default settings).

Please find at this link the debug log (line 649). To me it looks like that the scraper grabs the wrong TV show from the search list result, but I'm not able to go more deep into the issue. The correct information should be retrieved from Pokémon Season 20 (Sun & Moon), episodes 1 and 43.

I'm here for any question or additional information you may need. My son will be more than happy!

Have a great day!

- Edit -

May be the issue is related to the fact that the original Japanese name is used (i.e. ポケモン) and the scraper fails to find it in the resulting list returned by GetSearchResults? The list includes just three entries with non-Japanese titles:

Code:
<title>Pokémon Sol y Pokémon Luna</title><id>13230</id><year>1997</year><url...  (this one seems a mess mix of the others...)
...
...
...
<title>ポケモン</title><id>60572</id><year>1997</year><url...
<title>Pokémon Chronicles</title><id>13230</id><year>2006</year><url...
<title>Pokémon Sol y Pokémon Luna</title><id>97700</id><year>2016</year><url...
...
...
...

and the correct item is the one highlighted in bold.

- Edit 2 -

Ok, I renamed the folder in "ポケモン (1997)" and everything works as expected...

Sorry for rising up something that should have been clear since the beginning!  Angel

That is a known issue. When the Original Title is not English then in some cases the scraper cannot find the show. Using a Parsing NFO file is a workaround.

Weird. I switched scraper to Tvdb instead for that show. Thank you both for your advices.

Another weird thing I
noticed is when I scrap (with swedish language) Pippi Långstrump.
I get the show name in swedish but the episode names in english. The information about each episode is shown in swedish though Confused .

When I check TMDB website, episode names in swedish exist, so why am I getting them in english?

Found the problem. In addition to the missing data, it had been set as an Adult (porno) title, and TheMovieDB scraper ignores adult titles. It is scraping now.

I'll have a look at that a bit later.

Sorry, I cannot replicate this issue. It is all scraped in Swedish for me. In the scraper settings at the Source level, I changed Preferred Language and Certification Country both to sv

Just make sure when changing the scraper settings you do it at the Source via context menu>change content and not in the Add-ons section.

Hmm. It got solved by changing to Tvdb with Swedish and then back to Tmdb in Swedish.

I have another issue now though Wink, however a minor one. A lot of English Tv-shows that has episode names in English but not in Swedish (however someone has named it "Avsnitt X", i.e. "Episode X" in swedish). When this occurs I would much rather have the thorough English episode name than the Swedish "Episode X" scraped.

So, is it possible to scrap tv-show name in one language and episode names in another? (Except for the error in my former post, which I am no longer able to duplicate either Wink )

For now I scrap these shows in English and change the show title to Swedish.

No. You will need to manually edit the titles from Context Menu>Manage>Edit Title.

Yes, I suppose that is the easiest way.
Ok, last question (for a different way). Perhaps this is the wrong forum, but is there a way in TMDB to copy all English episode names to a different language, if one wants to reuse the English episode names in that language.

No. There is only one choice with languages and that all depends on what you set in the scraper. You set English, then you get English. You set Swedish, you get Swedish. And what you set in the scraper will depend on what language you used for your folder and filenames. You cannot name your folders and files in Swedish and scrape English, for example.

There is no chopping and changing. You need to use the same language throughout the chain. All your questions are essentially asking the same thing, just worded differently.

Not the same. Last question was regarding copying all episode names, lets say 100 episode names from one language to another at tmdb.com instead of retyping the episode names one by one.

I have this same problem. TvDB loads all titles in correct language, but MovieDB does not. Anyone has any solution to this? In my mind i have all the correct settings. It loads everything else in my language exept the show titles.

Hi !

I just found out that the new version of TMDB can lists episodes in DVD order :
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/615-futura...6c25015a52
That was a quite old feature request.

TheTVDB does the same, and have a "DVD order" tick in the scrapper preferences.
Is there a way to force that, in the TMDB scrapper preferences too?

It works a bit differently than the TVDB scraper. TheMovieDB has no setting for it in the scraper settings page, instead you use a Parsing NFO file to scrape it. See here... https://kodi.wiki/view/Naming_video_file...ode_Groups

I have a suspicion that TVDB's new Flexible Seasons will use the same method when the feature is finally complete.
