when I view animated GIF files in Kodi there is no animation, except when I use a skin what shows the picture as preview under the file list.
Is KODI 18.8 still not able to show animated GIF pictures?
If so is there a workaround  like with an external viewer?

You can view animated gifs in movies (need to add gif as filetype). It will only play one pass, so no chance of loops

this is what i do not understand they work for years to perfect an already perfect progran what did run awesome around the Gotham release but still did not fix so simple essential things like gif animation or a simple equalizer and some presets.
Is there a way to use an external image viewer?
