Hi @bsoriano, discovered a problem with the default Kodi Matrix skin, that might have an effect on what you are doing in Amber, I really don't know, but maybe useful info to you.

I just jumped over to the default skin to see how it was handling tags. It is incorrectly displaying an 8K tag for 4:3 (1.33:1) 4k (3840x2880) movies and TV. But shows the correct tag if it is a full-width screen, like 1.77:1 or other widescreen formats.

Not sure what forum to post this observation in exactly, but I'll find it.

@TheRealDeadMan , the default skin does not go from filenames to display the media flags, so what you are seeing must be a Kodi core issue.  Perhaps the General Support thread would be a good place to post this.  In the case of Amber, the same thing should happen.  However, if you want to ensure that the 8K flag gets displayed for the files that you know are 8K, you can include 8k or 8K in the name of the file and Amber will display this.  My guess is that Kodi is displaying 8K for any file that has a resolution greater than 3840x2160.

Hello all,

I have uploaded versions 3.2.109 (Leia) and 3.3.109 (Matrix) to GitHub and the Amber repos.

There is no new functionality in this version, just a few bug fixes:

1. Look for different letter casing options in file names to show media flags.  Before, Amber was only looking for hdr, or 4k, or 8k, or uhd.  Now it will also look for 8K, 4K, HDR, UHD, etc.

2.  Fix for media flags when pressing info in full screen video.   Before, different media flags were showing when you pressed Info while viewing full screen video, vs the ones that were showing when the OSD was showing.  This has been fixed.

3.  Fix for folder names not showing in Fanart view.  Before, if you were viewing a movie source and you had folders in it, Fanart view was not showing the folder name (this was also affecting Big List view).  This has been fixed.

Please download, test, and let me know if you find any additional issues.  Thanks.

Yes, they just replied back in the Estuary skin thread, and it is something that has to be fixed in the nightly build.

One thing I've noticed in Matrix is that the artwork for Movie Sets is not pulling through automatically, Test build of course but Movie Sets plugin and Artwork Beef are not in Matrix, so not sure if related. I can manually add them in but takes time. I've set the artwork folder in the settings for Movie Sets as well.

Hello all,

I've read through this post and I'm hoping I have things set correctly, just can't get it to rotate in view, I've taken a few screenshots to show you my settings. I can get the extrafanart to rotate in the background fine with "Show Fanart background on sub windows" set to Yes.

PC folder structure - tried both



This is the artwork I would expect to rotate highlighted in Red;


Within Kodi I can see the extrafanart as per this screen;


And finally here is my Amber settings;


Hoping I've not missed a setting somewhere and you could investigate,

@zorg2000k , thanks for your feedback.  In Fanart view, the fanart shown in the info panel does not change/rotate.  The fanart in the background of the view is the one that rotates if you have extrafanart.  For me, extrafanart is working in Matrix given the following:

1. I have all of the extrafanart in the same folder as the movie
2. I have set the Artowrk Level setting in Kodi (Media Settings, Video, Artwork Level) to Maximum (it picks up all local art this way).
3. Like your screenshot, set to Yes the Amber settings "Show fanart background on sub windows" and "Show extrafanart if available".

Thanks for clarifying this : In Fanart view, the fanart shown in the info panel does not change/rotate.  

Is that something that could be added or are you not wanting this as an option ? I personally prefer a static background fanart and for the info panel fanart to change / rotate. Would be nice across movies / tv shows and music
