In shelves position you can choose standard or low. Is it maybe possible to add a high position? I use the vertical menu icons only with only one widget row. Non static menu. So that way is always the upper menu item selected.
I think it looks better then to have the widget row at the top, next to the selected menu item.
What do you think?

A couple fluff suggestions that might be nice:

1. Adding a couple lines of "up next:" in the music osd. There's some unused space in the osd that might fit maybe the next 2 or 3 tracks in the queue... maybe more if the media flags were relocated or made optional to display? I don't know that most people really care what bitrates their flac and mp3 files are on a regular basis, but I'm sure there are some :-)

2. Adding the possibility to make the background pan around like the Ken Burns effect. It would make the screens a bit less static.

I'd be interested to hear what additions or enhancements YOU have planned to add to Amber. It was a slightly awkward transition for a week at home but now everyone has settled in and it's easily the new favorite skin. To demonstrate the feature gulf, I showed the cohabitant and friends a couple different skins to demonstrate how the other half lives and everyone was aghast lol. Great work, sir.

Hi all, what exactly does this "Collection" button do? It appears when looking in the Information menu; when a Movie is part of a collection/set - but clicking the button doesn't do anything, either when in the actual collection or just selecting a movie that belongs to a collection.

@TheRealDeadMan , that button takes you to the collection, that is, to browse the movies in the collection (set).  It does this as long as you have "Enable Use of Embuary Helper" set to Yes in the skin settings, since it uses that addon to go directly to the collection.  If you do not have the use of Embuary Helper enabled, then the button does nothing.

@snarfo , thank you for your kind words! I am glad you are enjoying the use of Amber.  I do not have any immediate plans for the skin at the moment, other than responding to user requests.  I am currently working on offering a "high" position for the shelves (widgets), which I was asked for a few days ago.

As for your requests:

1.  Could you please post a screenshot and point in it where you think the lines might fit? Thanks.

2.  Is this for the music OSD as well, or are you talking in general for all backgrounds? (home menu, media views where there is no extra fanart being shown, etc.).  Please let me know.  Thanks.

That's exactly what I meant by the Ken Burns effect--- the animated wallpaper on all views looks great!

The music UI is where we probably spend most of our time so here's a super crappy mockup of my vague idea. I like having a list of the 'up next' tracks in the queue. Space could be further optimized by shrinking the scrubber/progress bar to the width of the Artist/Track/Album section (thus allowing for a longer queue list) but in my quick and dirty job getting rid of the media flags (mp3/flac, bitrate, etc.) and adding the following 6 tracks in the queue is still pretty good imho. I like the layout and usefulness of everything else, though.

As an addendum, maybe going with mixed-case for the text could save some more room as well instead of all caps.

perfect skin in general, better than any other used so far.  flawless on leia, some problems on matrix,  i assume related to shelves settings.
very often after reboot, skin fails to load any shelves. if this happens, also many other settings (e.g. shutdown, corelec settings, etc.)  are not able to be opened from gui. actually it is vissible also in the log.

if i switch to other skin, it also can't load the widgets until i reboot, it starts to work afterwards. I can than change back to amber and it will work as well until next reboot. If reboot again to test if amber survives w/o problem, the problemm will be back, e.g. 7 out of 10 reboots.

any idea what might be the problem?

Hi @bsoriano.

I noticed an issue with the summaries showing in the Movies, TV Shows, and Music panel view.
The text overlaps the bottom 2 lines.
Movies :

TV Shows :

Music :

A little space should be left between the text and the bottom 2 lines.

@bsoriano - In regards to the music lyric visualization, I remember I was able to use my mouse or remote down keys to scroll each lyric line if the song is not auto syncing line by line, but now if I try that while it is playing nothing happens. Is this a bug?
