Information PseudoTV Live Beta Blog, Support & Discussion
Updated PseudoTV Live to v.0.2.5g and all currently compatible plugins (Locast, PlutoTV, ChannelsDVR) received a bump.

Importing custom m3u/xmltv and importing the above "Recommended Services" should work, if you encounter issues please let me know.

BTW I recommend a Kodi reboot after updates...

Doesn't look like importing or "Recommended Services" are working, at least not in my setup. I'm also getting both a PTVL and Pluto error.

There is a missing dependency, you need to have IPTV manager installed and enabled in the plugin's settings... this case Plutotv.

Welcome back!
1) Not sure I understand the problem... a log with some details will be required.
2) YES! Discovery+ recently added support for the same method i'm using in my other plugins... https://github.com/add-ons/service.iptv....-766367596
However, in order to make import seamlessly integrated into PseudoTV, a few extremely small tweaks need to be made to the Discovery+ code.
I did a quick test with the IPTV manager addon yesterday using the Discovery+ live channels. I noticed that the IPTV manager added all the live channels from the Discovery+ addon. Since I already have half of these included on my regular satellite service I didn't really need all the channels. Maybe be better if users could choose beforehand what channels they actually want imported into the IPTV client.
Anyway, I added another couple of Discovery+ channels to my own custom m3u file afterwards and then tried importing again, using yesterday's PTVL update -  Version (g). Actual channels were imported fairly quickly (less than 5 mins), but without any guide data. I then tested again using the IPTV client and all 3 channels with guide data were picked up immediately. After rebooting Kodi a few times, PTVL also added both the channel and guide data, but probably took about 15-20 mins to add the guide data part. So all 3 channels now working without issue with PTVL using the Discovery+ addon. Will add the rest of the channels I'm wanting now!
Only real issue was PTVL not picking up the channel logos when I added them to the logo folder. In the end, I changed the logo path on my custom m3u file and then changed the setting in the IPTV client to use the m3u file for channel logo paths. But that means I need to do that each time I start Kodi, so probably not the best solution.
As for 1) from my original post of yesterday. Yeah, I will post a full log asap, but was thinking it might a good idea to try and record what is happening as well when start Kodi.

Any control of channels added to the IPTV manager from Discovery+ has to be controlled on its end. For example, my plugins: Locast, PlutoTV, ChannelsDVR include an option to "ONLY ADD FAVORITES" and a context option to flag channels as a favorite. When it comes to PseudoTV's mass import feature ie. "Recommended Services" no control will be included... it functions to import a third-party list, management of that list is out of the scope of the feature.

When using PseudoTV Live, IPTV simple logos are only detected if they are in pseudotv.m3u. If you are importing a third-party m3u logos must be included in that m3u list which is imported to pseudotv.m3u. PseudoTV Lives logo folder is only used for channels created by PseudoTV... "Pre-defined", "User-defined".

As for what you described, the only issue I can think of is the PVR background is refreshing which will cause meta widgets to blank out while they refresh... this is normal. PseudoTV Live will only force the PVR to rebuild when there is no playback... this is performed hourly or if you recently made changes to Pseudos settings.

I'm still having no luck with either pluto or custom m3u importing. There is also a notification saying PTVL had an error.

Log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cqT3rI5...p=drivesdk

ETA: I also noticed that channels are not playing the next episode automatically

Ok, looks like m3u importing is now working. I have an issue with my m3u evidently. My m3u does not have the tvg-id= tag, only the tvg-name= tag. As long as I manually edit the m3u to include the tvg-id tag to each channel they seem to show up. No big deal really, just a little work on my part.

Still no luck with Pluto since that system changed. I have IPTV manager installed and pluto is enabled under recommend services. I have had IPTV manager refresh and it seems to recognize pluto. I'm not sure if there is a big or if I'm doing something wrong.

Don't see any issues, do you have build only favorites enabled in PlutoTV? Have you verified you have favorite channels? Open PlutoTV plugin and selecting "Live (Favorites)" are channels listed?
If not, after selecting favorites; enter PseudoTV Live and select to refresh IPTV Manager... then PseudoTV Live should pick up the channels.

As for the M3U, yeah...  I had no idea how many malformed m3u's there are, or at least how many variations can be out there. I had to create a min. standard of tags needed for import. Those are 'tvg-id' and any type of channel name and stream path.

BTW I C U are basically trying to import your HDHomerun channels, so I'll update my HDHomerun Simple plugin this week to work in Matrix and to support IPTV Manager and PseudoTV Live.... along with flagging channel favorites; this should make things easier for you Smile

Excellent. I hate the hdhomerun pvr backend.

As for pluto, I ended up uninstalling it, reinstalling it and setting up favorites again. That did the trick.

@Lunatixz I realize this probably goes beyond helping with just getting Pseudo TV working but I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to use the IPTV Manager? Ive installed it and under its setting told it to reconfigure Simple IPTV to use IPTV Manager but now my guide is empty.

What I want to be able to do is have the customer channels I set up in Psudo TV for some local file content and also integrate the channels from the Discovery+ add-on.

IPTV Manager has very little options and no where I see to be able to select which add-ons it uses?

Any guidance would be really helpful.

Thanks

Yes, after seeing that the channels logo's were not being added from the logo folder, I edited the 'tvg-logo' tag on my own m3u to point to a local folder in 'My Documents'. This path has been picked up and added to PseudoTV Live's m3u file when it has imported these custom channels from my own m3u file.
The problem is each time I start Kodi, the default settings for channel logos in the IPTV client are 'Local path' which is pointing to PseudoTV Live's logo folder. Underneath this, it has a heading for XMLTV Logo Options and by default this is set to 'Prefer M3U', so should pick up the logo path from the PseudoTV Live's m3u file, but it doesn't....Not until you change the first option 'Local Path' to 'Remote Path (Internet Address). Once this is done, channel logo's will appear. However, when you start Kodi the next time, the settings in the IPTV client have reverted back to 'Local Path'.

As for the other issue, I've created a couple of video captures of what I'm seeing when I start Kodi. The first clip shows what happens if I just scroll down to the live TV heading and wait. The 2nd clips shows what happens if I go directly to the TV Channel screen and wait there:-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzY-b3YYP_A
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0D8DqruiB0

Like I said, I'm not sure if this is a Kodi issue or PseudoTV Live issue, but I can confirm the problem does go away if I completely uninstall PseudoTV Live.
The problem also went away last night when I upgraded to the latest version (j), but found that trying to create the first half a dozen channels was extremely slow going and taking well over a minute per channel to create. Then PseudoTV Live suddenly speeded up to normal and was able to create my remaining channels in the normal time frame, so I'm not sure if PseudoTV Live was still processing information when creating the first few channels? Unfortunately, once all the channels were created PseudoTV Live was very slow at opening and switching between channels (like over a minute). I wasn't really able to continue with this version, so went back to version (h) and channel openings and switches were fine, but got same issue in the video clips returned.

I did create another log, but when I tried to upload this via Pastebin, I got the same error as before about inappropriate or offensive material and it would only offer me a private paste for my log. A quick google search of this pastebin notification will tell you lots of people on Reddit complaining about the same thing, so at least I'm not unique in that respect. I can send you the log by email if that's any good?
Let me know.
Cheers

Adding live TV channels for Discovery+ using the IPTV Manager method requires some additional work by the Discovery+ addon author, as per this post from a few days ago:- https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid3009300

However, I managed to get both local channels and Discovery+ live channels working in PseudoTV Live, by creating my own custom m3u file for the Discovery+ channels. I just added the live channels to Kodi's favourites, then used the favourite path for each channel on my m3u file. You only need to include the part where it starts with starts with 'plugin://plugin.video.discoveryplus' and ends with '"'. You do not need to include the ')' at the end.
All you need to do then is specify your m3u file path and xmltv path for the guide data in the PesudoTv Live settings.
Hope this helps

Update: Have just checked the PR mentioned in my link above and seems changes have now been made. Check the settings of the Discovery+ addon and it should say something about IPTV integration. If it doesn't, then you need to download the latest version of the addon or repo which is now also available.

Thanks alot for the info. I did notice as well that the Discovery+ add-on supports Pseudo TV and I am running the version from the developers repo. I have IPTV integration checked off in both Pseudo TV and Discovery+. At one point I believe Pseudo TV had a pop up stating that it discovered a comparable plugin (Discovery+) and asked if I wanted to integrate it. I said yes but I still don't see anything Discovery+ in my guide.

I am able to add Discovery+ content directly from within PseudoTV by going to Video Add-ons as a source and selecting a show but this has nothing to do with the IPTV Manager correct?

Im also not seeing anything related to "live channels" within the Discovery+ add-on?

Most of my PseudoTv Live channels are made up of local playlists. The only ones that are not, are the Discovery+ channels, which I created a M3U file and imported that into PTVL.

I haven't actually tried using IPTV Manager with PseudoTV Live as yet. I only heard about the addon a couple of days ago, so just gave it try to import stuff into the IPTV Simple client and not PseudoTv Live. @Lunatixz is probably the best person to give a better explanation/info on how IPTV Manager integrates fully with PseudoTV Live.

There is no 'Live Channel' section on the Discovery+ addon (certainly for my location). If I go to 'Channels' from the front page heading at the top of each channel page is the heading 'Watch....', ie 'Watch Discovery'. That's how I was add each live channel to Kodi's main favourites.
