Just tried this skin for the first time on my osmc vero 4K+ via the repository link which also installed all dependencies. First attempt got stuck on "initialising" for over 10 minutes, after forced reboot skin loaded however with no link to settings. I think it took my menu layout from "estuary mod" which does not have a menu link to settings as the skin itself has one at the top. Managed to get back to another skin via the webinterface. Went back to estuary mod, made a link to "settings", then switched back to Arctic Horizon and had the settings option back. Might help someone else coming from a skin using the same service without a link to settings.

When choosing a widget go to...
Additional widgets > Skin Helper Service Widgets > Favourites (at the bottom of the list)
... then select Favourites.

I don't have the "Skin Helper Service Widgets" in the Additional Widgets menu. I checked my Add-ons and I had Skin Helper Service (1.1.3/marcelveldt) installed. But then I found Skin Helper Service Widgets (1.0.22/marcelveldt) in the Kodi repository and installed it. But after reloading the skin I still don't see the option for it under Additional Widgets, it just shows Playlists and Library Data Provider. Is something else missing?

Does anybody here know what the setting "Autoscroll widgets" does? It doesn't seem to affect either the widget text or the widgets themselves.

I would like one of my widgets to automatically shift du it displays different movies, but this setting seems to do nothing.

I have installed Arctic Horizon Matrix Hack , How could I can enable Clear logos although my Library have all kind of Artwork Clear Logos etc ? All the ratings and other things are updated only clear logos.

Hey everyone. Sorry for my lack of replies - things have been extremely busy with work the last few months so I've barely had time for Kodi related stuff.

Im starting to get back into things now and hopefully should have a Matrix version up sometime in the next week.

I'll try and go back to read/reply to the posts I've missed at some point soon, but apologies in advance if I miss anyone as I mainly will be focusing on getting a Matrix release out the door first.

No problem JM. I figured you would be checking in soon. It is just about the one year anniversary since you released this skin! And thank you for doing so.... I was bored at home last March with not much to do so I decided to update my Kodi. I installed this skin and had fun tweaking it all year. I enjoy following and learning from this forum and always appreciate the updates. Cheers.

If you want to try the skin in Matrix, you need to:

0- download and install Matrix version of themoviedatabase helper from jurialunkey's github (you may also need to make sure you have a Matrix version of script.skinshortcuts - I can't remember if that's in the Matrix repo yet).
1- download the zip from the master branch of Arctic Horizon on github.
2- unzip it
3- edit the addon.xml file and change the line that has addon="xbmc.gui" version="5.14.0" to version="5.15.0"
4- also change the version in the first line of addon.xml so that the version adds +matrix.1 to the end (this makes sure the Leia version in the repo doesn't over write this one)
5- rezip the folder
6- install in Matrix using install from zip

I've been doing this for quite awhile, and the skin does seem to work. It doesn't have any of the newer Matrix skin features, but nothing breaks from what I can see.

Works very well on my ATV4 with Matrix RC1. Thanks for the tutorial

Would be possible display the mediaicons bottom of the widgets when hovered? Like in the mockup.. Oder when there no space for it, than on top. like in the second picture

I've already tried this sort of thing. It doesn't work. As soon as you have any background that is light or has any sort of detail in it, then it becomes extremely difficult to read the text. The only way this sort of thing is possible is if I had more control over the types of fanart used e.g. if I could specify to use fanart where most of the detail is aligned to the right of screen, then it could work - but with the variability of fanart, it just simply does not work.

Fanart with bright details makes text unreadable:

Even with darker artwork, if there is any variability you lose text

The showcase hub overlay works because the majority of the screen does not have text, so only a small corner needs to be dimmed. For that sort of effect to work with the standard library views where there is much more content on screen, the overlay would need to cover nearly the entire screen which then defeats the whole purpose. That's why the standard library background is relatively dark - it has to work with a variety of backgrounds.

Do you think it`s possible to add a dark, slightly transparent overlay or blur to only display where there`s text. Kind of like you did where it says info, trailer, similar etc io the first pic?

Not sure if that`s possible (sounds like a lot of work) to insert only where there`s text, but it would help with unreadable text.

Edit: looking at the two pictures you posted again. I noticed the bottom half of each picture has more darker shadows than the top half (gradient-like). The top has less shadow. You could probably put the shadow used on the bottom, and duplicate it up top, and it would have more readable text.

Good evening I come back to a subject already mentioned but I find it interesting, is there a way or a patch that will allow me to remove the veil that hides the beauty of the wallpaper, fanart I know you are not for it because the text in this fanart is unreadable but I would like to test it on the homescreen and not in the library as in your example your skin is very full. Thanks for your help

I would love this but I doubt this will ever happen. It's one of the small reasons I've stuck with Arctic Zephyr 2.
