v19 Duplicate / re-run detection problem
#1
Hi,

I'm running Kodi 19.2 with latest plugin updates and recently updated TVHeadend to 4.3-1979~g8fc2dfa7e. Previously I was using "4.2.8-36~g5bdcfd8ac~stretch" which seemed to behave "better": after update I noticed that re-runs are not detected anymore (in TVHeadend GUI there is no Re-run information for any upcoming recording although this worked in previous TVHeadend version) and duplicates are recorded by Autorec every time.

For Kodi I have used settting "All: Record if different description" but apparently this is not working for some reason anymore. Then I created an autorec in TVHeadend GUI by using "Record if different subtitle" which created only one scheduled recording and no duplicates and of course no re-run information. I guess this is fine but I'm not sure if this has "fallback" to record later if first scheduled recording fails.

But there is no "Record if different subtitle" option in Kodi so I cannot use it. Also I'm puzzled what is the actual difference in subtitle vs. description.

Ok I think this is solved by configuring EPG Grabber settings in TVHeadend
1. Go Configuration -> Channel/EPG -> EPG Grabber Modules
2. I'm using OTA so I select Over-the-air: EIT: DVB Grabber
3. Set "Short EIT description": Summary
4. Save

This way EPG data always has "description" populated and no "sub-title" and now "Record if different description" prevents duplicate schedules for all shows I tested.
