Internet Archive Game Launcher

The best way to do this is by Tag:
Open the game list>Sort by Tag> then choose whichever grouping you're interested in:

Or if want to generate a list for multiple tags that you'll use a lot (set it / forget it method):
Search>Choose Game List(s)>Filter by Tags and select multiple tags>Generate Search Link and follow the prompts>Highlight the link you make, then context menu and select 'Add to Favorites' or 'Add to IAGL Favorites':

A custom list I often generate is English/USA games only in the "1G1R" grouping (the 1G1R group ensures there's only one revision of each game listed). This will filter NES for example from 3000+ games to ~650, which is way more manageable and fun to browse through, at least for me (but to each their own, some people like every iteration of a game):

Hey Zack, This issue doesnt seem to really be IAGL, but just thought maybe you might have a clue and could help? It seems IAGL doesnt work on the Amber skin?  It seems I cant get IAGL working on Amber skin for some reason. After I exit a game, the skin keeps trying to reload the game, and also doesnt let you out of the information screen. Even if i turn Information screen off in IAGL settings the skin just keep trying to open the last game again and again. This is only happening in Amber skin. I did a complete fresh install with the latest Amber Skin, and IAGL to rule out any other things like Amber settings/addons, etc that might be causing it and the issue is still there, so unfortunately I cant use IAGL with Amber because of this issue. I made a video for you to see what exactly I mean and the issue im having... In this video you will see I start from scratch with just Amber and IAGL, run the setup and run IAGL on Estuary skin first. Everything works properly using Estuary skin, then you will see I switch to Amber skin in the video and run the same game system/Game list in Amber to demonstrate the issues im having in Amber. Please take a look at my video I uploaded.. Thanks!!!

Hmm, I'm not sure whats causing it, but i can definitely recreate the issue pretty easily.

Without even selecting a game, if I change the view type to "Triple" then every time you move through a game list to a new item it will auto execute the selected item.

We'd need some help from the skin owner to know why. I haven't seen this from any other skin (I don't think I even saw it from Amber in the past in testing).

@zachmorris, I was able to fix this issue yesterday. It had to do with the use of FolderPath as list content.

I am planning on skinning the info dialog for Amber; do all of the controls need to have the ids that are in the default info dialog? Please let me know. Thanks.

Regards,

Bart

Hi @bsoriano,

Thanks for looking into it. Yeah, all the control names are static for that window, so if you use the same names it should work. If there's something that could be made more 'skin friendly' in the addon let me know.

Thumbs Up
Hello dear admin, do you know how to solve the problem with amber? It is my favorite skin and I do not want to change. : < thanks.

Hi Zack, I tried to use IAGL with Retroarch as external launcher. First I used the wizard to setup the external launcher, it found the retroarch.bin and the retroarch.cfg by itself, but in the end it gives the warning, that IAGL could not setup the external launcher. I checked the .xml-file then, where everything seemed correct. Then I tried Retroarch standalone, and it worked (testet with Donkey Kong Country and BSNES accuracy core). How could I do further troubleshooting?

Software:
Xubuntu 20.04 LTS,
Kodi 19.3
Retroarch 1.9.14

I dont have game.libretro installed, because I didn't built kodi by myself and on linux the binary addon is not installed by standard. But if it were possible i would like to avoid a new installation of kodi, so I tried the external launcher option.

Curious, does anybody else get the "Please wait processing files 99%" message as a notification after installing IAGL and playing the first game? The message just stays there and doesnt finish, not sure what its processing? Any clue?

**Edit, it looks like an issue on my end somehow, installed on a fresh Kodi install and dont see the message, ill try to figure out whats causing it, sorry.

Ok, I figured out whats causing it. It seems Autowidget is to blame? When i was looking through the logs I noticed Autowidget doing stuff right after I exit a game. So I went back to a fresh install of Kodi and IAGL. Works fine without Autowidget installed. Installed Autowidget and then same Please wait, processing files message 99% comes back and stays on the screen. So its definitely Autowidget causing this message. I will also post this in Autowidget support. Heres the log when this happens...  https://pastebin.com/BvtFDVq9   *Also posted this issue in AW thread here..  https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid3079730  *Heres a screenshot of the message: https://pichost.net/img/screenshot-1.N8exa

External launching should work. If you want to use Kodi, that should work too, you just have to install game.libretro addon along with game addons via the linux package manager, instead of from inside Kodi. See here.

For external launching, you can follow some troubleshooting tips in the FAQ here. I'd need a debug log to know what the problem is.

which version of IAGL is compatible with 18.7 on raspberry pi?  I've tried all the 2.x versions on git and all say not compatible...
is there a different method of installing this manually other than download zip and use add from zipfile?

thanks

The latest 2.X version should be compatible with Kodi v18.X. What is the incompatability message /debug log say is incompatible?

That said, 2.X is no longer developed, so beyond the fact that it installs, I can't comment on how up to date or functional the game lists are. v19 kodi should be usable on an rpi, right?

Thank you for your respond. I already tried to install the game.libretro addon via aptitude, but it's not in the official xbmc-repository. The version in the nightly repository ist now for kodi v20 and does not work with kodi v19 (at least on my pc).

I will paste a debug log as soon as I have the time.
