Hello All!

Hoping for some help.  I have s system that has been working forever running Kodi 19.0 (Kept it here as I had issues a while back going to 19.1).  When opening up Kodi I am getting the following error message:  "ERROR: Unable to initialize.  Exiting".  I have looked at all of the basic things, reboot, force close, delete advancedsettings file, etc but continue to strike out.  Looking for any help to get this back up and running as I am lost without my kodi working!!!  Thank you!!

Obviously you need to use the Advanced Method
Log is here : %APPDATA%\Kodi\kodi.log

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

The error is on the fourth last line. Looks like your language file has become corrupted.
Easiest fix is to download v19.4 and reinstall over the top. No need to delete anything, just run the installer. It should replace the language file.

Let us know if that fixes it.

You guys freaking rock!!! That resolved the issues.  I was afraid to update as I tried a while back to update to 19.1 and that cause its own issues.  I did try to reinstall 19.0 over it and that didn't work.  Thank you for such a quick response and resolution @Karellen and @otinley!!!
