As to what will, or won't work on the itvhub addon when X is launched we can only speculate. I am not too pessimistic though, but that is not more than a hunch. It could go any way, really.  If someone does have information about upcoming changes I'd be very interested to know.
I can only say that I have the intention to keep itv working on kodi; I am a user myself after all. Whether that will be soon after launch of X, in what form, or indeed if it will ever happen, all depends on what X will bring us.
I am as curious as you are, but we just have to wait and see.
That's brilliant news, and well done on what you have achieved so far with this add-on.

Hi

After using successfully since installing 0.4.0, live and catch up both not working this morning - lots of "failed to open" errors in log. I can raise an issue on Github if requited. Many thanks

All my live TV is working this morning and all the catch-up I checked, six shows including some from this morning.

Both live and catch-up are working here too.
I do not want reject the possibility of a bug in the addon, but the first thing that comes to mind is to check everything regarding network, or the method of connecting.
You could also try to sign out and back in again. But if that solves it I would very much like to see the debug log you have now.

That certainly suggests there is something going wrong. With that information however, there is no way of telling what failed and why. If you need assistance please create a new debug log, upload it and post the link.

There is no need to create an issue on github right now. You'll find more eyes and much more knowledge here than on gitub.

Many thanks for your responses. I've spent a lot of time debugging this one. I created a clean kodi install with just this addon active and all worked well! So I rebuilt my kodi installation from the clean install and all working again. Something must have got corrupted within my live system but absolutely no idea what. I guess doing a clrean build once in a while isn't a bad idea anyway!

Yes, I use osmc on rpi4.
What issues exactly?

I first installed widevine a long time ago and keep it up to date with inputstream helper. No tweaking of OSMC required.

That does not look at all like a widevine issue to me.
I just checked all live channels and some catchup. All worked, so there's no breaking change at ITV's web service.
It seems more like a problem with your network configuration.
Please upload the debug log, so we can check origin of the error

The 'runtime error' only seems to happen when selecting by Category, like sport.
By alphabetical order and by title, it works fine.

log
Was using LibreElec with no issues with ITV HUB...Decided to try OSMC today and not having much luck..
Logs are  attached.
Did notice that my setup is using google DNS..maybe that s the culprit..
