Has anyone had any experience setting up wiimotes for light gun games, specifically in linux using the kernel driver? I had a quick play and managed to get the buttons to register as a controller, but go nothing for the IR pointing.

I have a Wiimote I've been wanting to try, but I'm not sure the voltage needed for the IR bar. Do you know what voltage should be used to power it?

The reason I started looking at WiiMotes was because I have some to test. If they can be made to work I might be inclined to look at more specialised solutions like the aimtracks and such.

I have some WiiMotes too that I'd like to try out, but my Wii is kaput and I need to power the "sensor" bar externally. Do you know what voltage/current the sensor bar takes?

The link I provided in an earlier post suggests it can be powered by ~5v though the sensor bar port on the back of the Wii can drive 12v.
