New FireTV Max is released in a few days only, the 2023 series that is.

I'll wait until I see a kodi debug log ... too much stuff happened the last 12 years ... would be awesome, yes. In the Debug Log I see what I enumerate and what opens properly. Having 8 channel IEC, while supported nowadays by Audiotrack API is still quite seldom.

I think it's a simple business trick. When, hopefully soon, Disney plus launches imax dts-x streaming, amazon can say: Hey we're ready, and we support it in our new devices. It's the same reason LG Supports the dropped dts again on newest TVs.

if you mean imax enhanced, it already has, i get those audio streams with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 with the Disney+ addon from matthuisman - nothing special to report other than it is present and plays properly

No.
There is no dts-x sound released in Disney.
That movie just imax picture format with lossy 16 channel dd + atmos, as all others, in kodi addon too.

Thank you very much for this! This build has fixed the issue with blank screen on Fire TV 4K Max and certain MKV files. After disabling HDR10+ in settings the files are now playing back correctly. Excellent work!
I wonder if you could possibly build a newer release containing recent changes in Kodi. With current build I have an issue with Kodi loosing (forgetting) poster images in the movie and series lists. I believe there was a bug in mainstream which has been fixed already. I was previously using Kodinerds build made in September. It had exactly the same issue. After updating to Kodinerds build from October the issue was fixed. Unfortunately Kodinerds builds do not include you fix for disabling HDR10+, therefore leaving me with a blank screen.
I hope this very important fix will be merged into mainstream soon. In the meantime I’m going to use your build. I hope you can find time to make a new release. The bug with posters make it difficult to use Kodi.
Thanks again for fixing this.

I was wondering when we can expect the second feature (disabling of HDR10+ or DV) to be merged upstream.
I was able to find the pull request of the first (already merged) feature. It was a lot of work and it is highly appreciated. The merge process took 8 months. Thanks for not giving up and pushing it to the successful end.
I couldn't find a pull request for the second feature though. Have I missed it or there is indeed no pull request yet? In the latest case - why so? The feature is extremely helpful. For me it solves the issues with many files. I would even say that all the changes for integrating of libdovi (with all Rust dependencies) really pay off with the second feature.

Thanks. That looks great! Wondering why they don't start to support that on their older Firetv 4K Max as well ... I did not expect this chipset, but great it works.

I think they use hdr priority...

One ignorant question, as I don't own an Android box (always used a PC for Kodi) and, as such, I've never dealt with DoVi files.
From what I understand, UHD remuxes use profile 7. This feature converts that on the fly to profile 8.1, stating that the enhanced layer is discarded (not sent to the decoder).
The end result being? Regular HDR10? Or a lesser form of Dolby Vision?
Again, pardon my ignorance.

In most cases Android devices don't support profile 7, so there's no difference and not converting could even be worse.
