When I choose a tv show or movie from ninja video, quicksilverscreen or some other video plugins, it connects, starts to cache and then right when it gets close to the end of the cache, I get the following error message:
demux_open (00BAE010,35,-1,-1,-1)
libaformat file format detected
it won't play, and in about 30 seconds it says "aborted to too many failed attempts."
do you know what this message means?
I've extended the timeout time to 200 seconds in my advancedsettings.xml. I have the xbox connected to a wireless bridge.
Thanks.

March 3 uses the special:// paths. you could try the January 25 build which doesn't use the special:// path. it's the build that i used and it works for me.
the ideal thing would be for the newer builds to work with the plugins, but there are still some bugs to work out.
another thing to try would be to highlight the video you want to play and instead of pressing "A" to play it, press the white button and select "Play using.." and try it with the DVD player instead. this sometimes works better with other videos. (or try Mplayer if DVD player is default and not working.)

So I loaded the Jan xbmc and ninja works.. for the most part. it works better then before but some shows don't load but I understand that is ninja video and not xbmc. I did get hell's kitchen to work on ninja and I use TV shack for other shows like Dexter. I didn't get house to work on ninja but i'll look in the other plugins to find it. Thanks so much guys.
I am spreading the word on xbmc, since i started in april i've turned 2 other people to (dark side?) xbmc, one of which, has programming experience so hopefully she'll start writing scripts and plugins once I get her hooked. we we've both kicked our cable. sweeeet!

Thanks. I did see his posts and am in the process of trying to use the SVN. I've tried it before but it hasn't worked for me. I read the entire post of where he released it (16) pages. I'm not quite sure I understand all of it but I just installed the 1.31 version into the plugins/programs and will add it as a source to see if that works. if not, I'll do some more digging to see what my specific issue may be.
Thanks.

no need to add as source anymore. just unzip it and dump the folder into your Q:\plugins\programs folder and it should start. if Programs isn't showing up for you (it doesn't show up automatically for me as i use PM3.HD) go to Settings > Skin Settings > Home Window > Show Programs in Main Menu.

I got it to work. I had to go back to the 1.31 version. I dumped the file in xbmc\plugins\programs and then I added it as a source. I'm using the Jan xbmc build, like yours, and I was able to install WatchXonline and it worked. Much more streamlined then ftp the file into xbmc. Thank so much guys. I am now able to cut my cable bill by 22% !
