To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum
Always read the Wiki, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Read/follow the forum rules.

Problem: Python renamed isAlive to is_alive so it broke the addon.

Fix: Open file causing the error, search and replace text isAlive -> is_alive, save file.

Relative Path: script.speedtester/resources/lib/addon.py

Android Full Path: /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/addons/script.speedtester/resources/lib/addon.py

Makes things easier when you can see the error in the log.

@"nymdbwdp"  Nice of you to try and help but there is literally large red letters above the 'Post Reply" button that says - "Do not post logs in the forum. Use https://paste.kodi.tv/ instead."

You miss that?

Also snippets of logs are not always as useful as you think, a full Debug Log would be much better.

Tried your changes to the sadly with no joy. (resources/lib/addon.py - change instances of isAlive to is_alive )
Still trying to work out to make a log.
I will need time to reload latest Kodi etc 1st.  Will need access to tv etc, hard atm.

Add on in Kodi Repo has not been updated. New one that works is here https://github.com/add-ons/script.speedtester/releases

When I go to this link I see the zip files but when I add source (yes it's add exactly as written) also doesn't say nothing there are you sure you want to add as a source. Yet when I go to install from a zip file on my LG G4 nothing appears in the directory, any suggestions?

so if it doesn't say nothing then it says something?

```
nothing in a http source directory would mean something wrong reading from github
```

while

```
nothing in a directory on the device would mean kodi cannot see the files which would be a permission issue
settings -> apps -> kodi -> permissions ->
is there an option for allow management of all files?
```

but your post is nearly incomprehensible as to what you're doing

When I open the link in a web browser I can see the zip files.

In Kodi settings I have allow unknown repositories.

When I add source in file manager with the link(written exactly as you posted) it adds the source but doesn't prompt saying no source are you sure you want to add. But when I go to install from zip file there's nothing in the source location. It's very strange.

Hopefully this is less confusing, in my head it made sense lol

yes, i think i see

the link https://github.com/add-ons/script.speedtester/releases is not viewable by kodi, kodi only knows how to parse file listings of a specific format
you can see the format kodi is capable of parsing when browsing the official addon repository - https://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/omega/
the actual file doing the parsing is here https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master...ectory.cpp

-----

anyway, i'm sure that means jack to most people, the issue at hand is kodi doesn't know how to read github as a directory
you need to download the zip to your device manually and install it manually

the instructions for that method are here https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on_manager#Ho...a_ZIP_file

-----

if kodi cannot see a downloaded file on your device then the permissions come into play
i expect though that if you save it to Downloads then kodi *should be able to see it there
