Upon resume from standby, my snapstream Firefly remote stops working. it will resume xbmc, but then it stops working. I really need to figure out the problem. How can I issue a command to "lirc -restart" upon resume from standby?

Same problem here, seems to be a Linux issue but how to fix it?

If XBMC recognizes that it is coming out of standby, then it should be able to issue a command to /etc/lirc/lirc -restart right?
Does XBMC recognize that it was in standby?
hrmm.. maybe it's not LIRC and it's XBMC....
Gotta go test this. maybe XBMC is shutting down and not issuing the command to the proper channels

Post if you have this problem and let me know the model of remote and the type of computer you have. Also let me know if you have a working remote after standby.
I found out how to get LIRC to recognize the remote again. Just unplug it and plug it back in. That's all. restarting drivers did not work.
However XBMC does not respond to the remote after standby.
What can I do to rectify this problem?

I use the Xbox DVD remote connected via USB and for me the problem is that after resuming from standby even an lirc restart won't help. I first have to rmmod the lirc_usbati module (or is it lirc_atiusb?), then modprobe it and THEN restart lirc.
This gets lirc working but XBMC still doesn't talk to the remote.
