1 : most of the time it will boot in to the command line, its complete random at best, how can it be random it’s a computer?

2 : Still no network in XBMC booting from a SSD drive. I can ping from the command line XBMC says connected etc . Only after a XBMC restart the news ticker will go and I have network, shares etc. . Eight seconds boot time is to short it seems, but it’s very very annoying.

Installing on a normal HDD and I don’t have this problem at all. And yes its really the SSD it fault somehow.

3 : Network shares cannot be accessed on my Windows 7 system “function not implanted”

4 : One or two shares on my XP system will not show up.

System specs :

M3N 78 VM – 2gig DDR2 800 MHz, AMD 4200 Mhz, ocz agility 30G SSD
The SSD problems were already there, the network ones are new.

I have to test the SSD in my Asrock ion system to see if the SSD problem is on al systems or only on my m3n mainboard. If someone could help I will be very happy.

when it will be possible to decode H264 using the hardware in the nvidia series7 (7600GS)
since it supports (High-definition H.264, MPEG2 and WMV9 decode acceleration )

Not know much about Linux, but I wonder if it is possible to enable hardware decoding for (7600GS)

same here, running off acer revo single core ... smb working in alpha 1, alpha 2 returns a timeout error ...

things just get odder around here ... after failing to connect on multiple attempts, i abandon the project to work on something else ... when i came back to my machine this evening, im able to connect to my SMB share without error (still cant get to windows 7 - function not yet implement error) ... so far, have not have any of the xbmc crashes i seen in alpha 1 when i lookup movies ...

i do notice that some movie titles that was being recognized on alpha 1 is coming up with the generic icon ... when i go to see if i can do a movie lookup, the option is missing ...

also, i notice the username/password that was in the network option is no longer there ... is this just me?!?

EDIT:
It IS already working. I did not put in the usb with the alpha2 when testing..sorry.

Exiting XBMC live now drop you back to command line. (After after some ctrl+c or what I did)

Would it be possible to change the scripts so that exiting live drops you back to command line?

Samba browsing issues:

"function not implemented" - samba is partly broken in karmic, lots of people having this and only seems to appear with windows 7 shares. Try accessing the share by not browsing but typing the share name in directly e.g. "smb://computerName/SharedFolder/".

A fix for this is in samba version 3.4.3, karmic uses 3.4.0 and I've not been able to update successfully yet.

My Asrock Ion 330 Samba now works fine with alpha 2 - it would crash the system with alpha 1 after a minute into playback - streaming from Synology NAS SMB share.

Watched videos no problem there was only one odd instance were a video froze and I pressed the back button and eventually it went back to XBMC and I was able to resume the video and play normally.

The only thing that doesn't seem to be working under alpha 2 for me is wake from suspend via IR remote.

Asrock ION 330, 4G ram, burn to CD install to 4G USB thumb drive.

quick test :
* DVD ISO menu bug & MKV play bug - fixed.
* 1080P SMB stream from XP network seems more smooth, less -rebuffer.

everything seems getting better.
but the USB thumb drive boot time seems take longer time than alpha1 ?

My problem is : Xbox remote dongle not work
( use modiff hardware.conf lircd.conf and blacklist.conf method ),
is works at alpha 1, anyone have the same problem ? thanks.

I have just tested xbmc live 9.11a2 on my Acer revo 3600 and all works very well except ISO playback.
The failure is only when using FTP.

What is the deal with the diffent source in live
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/ppa/ubuntu/ karmic main
compared to "official PPA"
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/karmic-ppa/ubuntu karmic main

Some live stuff is included in the latter, why not all? The only reason it matter to me is that we only get the usplash in the live ppa.
