Ember Media Manager NFO/Poster/FanArt Manager for Movies (Open Source VB.NET)
Unitydisconnect Wrote:I'm fairly new to Ember but so far it has been a fantastic tool.

I'm having a little trouble with TV Shows. Ember scrapes and downloads all the art and creates .nfo file successfully, but when i update my xbmc library it doesn't use the .nfo files from the folder. It connects to the internet and scrapes them on its own.

Is there xbmc config that i need to change so that it uses these nfo files? or is it something with Ember?

Thanks for the help guys

I have the same issue, except for my movies. XBMC won't use the .nfo files that ember creates.

As a second note I keep getting a blank screen for "fanart" when the results don't match the size that I specified. When I click on the bottom left checkboxes I get an error saying:

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click
Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If
you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

If I click on details this is what I get.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Thanks a lot for working on EMM on other OS's Smile

Now that it works on Linux, what about Mac OS X?

I don't know how to get those "apt" packages from your Linux guide in OS X.

For example "mono-winforms-ally" where do I get that so I can compile it myself in OS X?

Any hints?

---

EDIT:

I just tried to download the latest Mono OS X release binary from the official Mono site and installed it.

I also downloaded the latest MediaInfo CLI for OS X, it installs as "mediainfo" in /usr/local/bin/

I downloaded EmberSetup.exe with curl in Terminal.app and did:

mono EmberSetup.exe

It shows the "Language Selection" box for 1 second and then crashes back to Terminal with the error message:

"Segmentation fault"

I also tried running it with sudo but that didn't help.

HERE IS THE MONO CRASH LOG: http://pastebin.com/xZYpJATV

I guess if it works on Linux now we just need some slightly different install methods on OS X and we could get it to work.

I'm willing to try out / install some stuff if you have any hints?

---

EDIT 2:

I compiled the latest Mono snapshot from today myself.

Now I get another error:

It tells me that the Assembly Microsoft VisualBasic 8 could not be loaded.

It seems I need the libmono visualbasic8 library, but where do I get the source for that, so I can compile it on OS X?

I think I'm getting close to running EMM now Smile

Thanks Smile

Hi.

I use Ember MM but i had 2 problems:
1- I can't use Scrape media button (near Update library) for TV Show. I had to do one on one.

2- How to use that info (fanart, season front, season fanart) at XBMC? I just want when I open TV Shows they show the posters of my series. Now they show me Genre, Year, Actors :|

I am having a problem with the scraping. I hope this hasn't been dealth with and i am doubling a question, but i looked back 20 pages and didn't see it. Also, i tried to post this to the emm forum, but i am having a problem logging in (i reset my password, and i still get an invalid user/password error)...so, i am sorry to do this here and not there.

When i re-scrape a single movie, everything works fine (using both xml and native scraper)

however, when i select multiple movies and scrape (using either ask or force) it does not get the poster, fanart, info, or extra thumbs). I have tried multiple settings and still get nothing. I updated emm last night and in the pop up box it said it corrected an error for scrape settings not loading correctly, so now i am confused. Please help, as I am getting sleepy scraping one movie at a timeBig Grin

Thank you

*edit*
well, believe i found my answer on post #4055...thanks again
is this working on anyone's linux box? I finally got it to load however it gets hung up when I try to scrape a movie. how do I get a debug log for emm?
Nvidia Shield with Kodi 18
this scraper looks perfect for me, but when i try and run the installer it tells me the version list is unavailable and does not let me install, is there any other way i can get this on my system?
hi,

when I select more than one (newly added -> no nfo file available yet) movies and choose "(Re)Scrape Selected Movies" the scraping itself works perfect, but there are no nfo files written even after I exit Ember. When I restart Ember, only the poster column has the green symbol, the nfo-column is empty. but the data is completely available from DB.
When I select only one movie & scrape it, the nfo-file is written.

Can I force to save nfo-files as a workaraound meanwhile?

I use v2252

Are you using any proxy?

Jocker_Boy Wrote:Hello.
Ember Media Manager is better and better after each revision.
I was wondering, why do not add:

Writers and Language fields to *.nfo file of each movie?

Sorry for double post.
But, is this feature a bad idea? It's only to complete the information of each movie.
And i'm using XBMC and another program, and the only blank info is this two fields.
